Luigi's apartment was great! The apartment is exactly as the pictures show and served as a perfect getaway to Cefalu for two! Highly recommend!
What an amazing apartment! Two minutes down to the beach, and a very nice, welcoming environment. I only stayed for one night, and did not meet Luigi, but his girlfriend made sure I was comfortable and even helped me arrange a taxi for when I left. I will definitely be back to Cefalu someday and hope to stay at your place again :)
Luigi's apartment was close to beach and city center, it had everything you need for a few days holiday. Luigi and his family were very friendly and helpful. Good place to stay when you go to Cefalu.
I want to start by saying that we had a great stay in Luigi’s newly renovated apartment in Cefalù. Luigi was very quick to respond to any questions we had before we made the booking and after. The photos of the apartment do not do it justice, the sitting area is much nicer than it appears in the photos. I do want to explain a few things about the apartment, things that would have liked to know in advance. The apartment is part of a very old building that used to be a mill. It appears that there are three separate apartments as well as Luigi’s family home, built on the site. The apartment we stayed in is at the bottom of the stone building and sits directly over a small creek that would have powered the mill in days long ago. There’s little water there now, but there’s enough for some reeds to grow. The old millstone has been preserved and sits next to the entrance stairs. The renovations have been expertly accomplished and the main floor living space is attractive and comfortable. There are three large windows in the main floor rooms, providing plenty of natural light and fresh air. The second bedroom is located down an interior flight of stairs and is in what must have been a former cellar in the mill. It does not have any windows and is somewhat damp and dark. There were only two of us using the apartment during our stay, so we had no need to go down to the second bedroom. I have severe allergies to damp places, and at first I was alarmed that I would not be able to stay in the apartment. I managed by using antihistamines and keeping the windows open at night. The building is very secure. I read that another guest stayed in the apartment in the hotter months and he found that the air conditioner dealt adequately with the dampness. There is no sea view from the apartment we stayed in, but it appeared that there was a view from the terraces for the other two apartments. It’s only a short walk to the beach, so this was not a problem for us. We parked in the supermarket lot right beside the apartment but when it was time for us to leave, we needed Luigi to come and help us with a ticket to open the gate. We sent him a text, and he was there almost immediately. If you are driving, I suggest you plan to meet Luigi when you are leaving so you can get out of the lot with little difficulty. We enjoyed Cefalù to the fullest extent. It’s an amazing destination, one of our favourites in Sicily and we hope to return one day. Be sure to hike up to the Temple of Diana. It’s not difficult, but I should note that we didn’t go all the way to the Castle as it had rained heavily in the...
We didn't meet Luigi, but he sent his cousin and his wife to welcome us. They Werke very nice and explained us that there had been a misunderstanding and we would have to stay in another flat nearby. This (The Sea House) flat is modern, functional and was clean. You have to know that it is in the ground floor of the building what in fact means that you are somehow underground. So there is no view. But the location is great. Only a few meters away from the beach, a supermarket nearby and only a short walk along the beachfront to reach the nice city center of Cefalù. The only thing we missed: four wine glasses. Recommendable!
