The apartment is perfectly located! We really enjoyed to relax on the terrace and experienced marvelous sunsets. Furthermore the apartment is perfectly equipped first of all if you plan a longer stay as there is a washing machine and a nice grocery just around the corner if you plan to cook yourself. The most important point is that Argentine is a wonderful host! The communication and te check in/check out were totally uncomplicated. As we were planning to travel through Uruguay she gave us some awesome recommendations which places we should not forget to visit! That was precious! Perfect stay!:)

Argentine's apartment was a charming place to stay in Montevideo. The apartment is in the centre of everything and surrounded by lots of vibrant life but is completley soundproofed. Argentine has both cleverly and thoughtfully equipped the apartment with a practical décor that makes you feel comfortable but also added lots of interesting cultural touches that makes it feel homely. The terrace is the apartment's most impressive feature which offers exquisite sunrises and sunsets over the city and is very conducive for entertaining colleagues or friends for a barbeque or eating al fresco. Argentine and her assistant Fabianna were also prompt and easy to deal with. If you're looking for a unique experience of Montevideo we highly recommend staying at this very special apartment.

The location is perfect for visiting Montevideo. Spectacular views, close to so many attractions, great restaurants, and the beat of the city. Argentine is extremely conscientios about her guests' comfort. She wants everything to be accurate and convenient so that the guests have no concerns at all. She is a complete pleasure to know.

Perfect old town location with large private terrace. Most buses pass within a few blocks. Small supermarket 100m to the left. Great internet. No traffic noise because Sarandí is a walking street.

Argentine was out of country. We were met by Fabiana and also by Joseph. The doorman Jorge was a daily reminder of our secure location. The apartment was great - has all the facilities needed and in great location. Coffee expresso too!! The outside living was tops - with city wide views. Markets, supermarkets, hop on/hop off bus and restaurants close by. Didn't get a chance to go biking! Fabulous setting.

Sophie, the owner of the flat, was in Buenos Aires when we arrived, but she had arranged for a friend to greet us on arrival, and she (the friend) even took the trouble to wait outside on a public bench so that she was able to come over to us as we were about to press the bell, so we had a welcome before we were even inside the street door. We knew of this flat from having been able to see it from the roof terrace of another flat that we had rented for two years running before, and we were very much looking forward to being in it. We were delighted with the level of privacy afforded at the top of a mixed-use building (offices and private apartments) - this flat really does have one of the best possible locations in central Montevideo, with its view over the roof of the Cabildo, view of the towers of the Cathedral, and more distant views of the waters of the River Plate. Everything needed for a stay of just a few days, or a more prolonged stay (we were there for five weeks), is available within a few minutes' walk from the edificio (apartment building), and for non-Spanish speakers, the elderly gentleman who owns the shop two doors away speaks excellent English, and is always happy to engage you in conversation (you don't have to buy anything). The nearby Plaza Matriz, in front of the Cathedral, was much quieter in terms of antique dealers this year, but the street (Sarandi) is still lively with craft sellers, and this must be the only street on the planet where you can buy a refurbished cast iron hand-operated meat mincing machine!!! This apartment comes highly recommended if you are happy to stay in a well-lived-in private home, but less so if you want hermetically sealed de-personalised and sanitised hotel-style box rooms. The apartment has the best roof terrace you are likely to find anywhere in the city. Michael & Peter
