We loved staying at Chelsea's place. The loft was full of character thanks to its rich history and modern, but artsy decor. I slept like a baby in the bed upstairs. Located in The Commons, we could walk just a few steps for wonderful coffee and food. You can even take a tour of The Commons to learn more about it, but buy tickets online early! We missed out because we took too long to decide. We also loved the hiking trails on the property and took some beautiful walks there. It's really close to downtown TC, so it really was the ultimate location. Quiet at night, friendly people and close to everything. One night there was a free concert at Leftfoot Charley's (the wine/cider spot at The Commons) and we had a glass of cinnamon girl cider while we enjoyed some great music and ordered an amazing pizza from Pleasanton Bakery. Probably my favorite night of our vacation. My brother and sister-in-law joined us for a few nights and we all loved the place. It's cozy with four people, so you want to make sure they are family or close friends :) There's a metal spiral staircase up to the loft, so I wouldn't recommend it for older folks or people unsure about their footing, but it's a gem for everyone else. Chelsea was friendly and quickly answered any questions I had and the process was really smooth. Can't wait to go back!
Wonderful property, awesome host, and fantastic location! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. I kind of surprised my wife with the reservation and as soon as we unlocked the door she went through the loft and snapped about 50 pictures because she was so impressed! The loft was very comfortable and so much better than staying in a stuffy hotel. Chelsea was very easy to communicate with and really made her loft feel like our home for the week.
The location is perfect in TC! The Grand Traverse Commons property is very cool and has so much to do. There is wine tasting at Black Star Farms, wine/hard cider at Left Foot Charley, coffee at Higher Grounds, breakfast at Cuppa Joe, dessert at Underground Cheesecake Co, great Mexican food at Spanglish, and one of our favorite restaurants in TC, Trattoria Stella! We were glad to have our bikes with us too since the city is very bike friendly now. From The Commons it took us less than 15 minutes to ride downtown and we even took the TART trail all the way up to Suttons Bay one day.
The space was just as gorgeous as the photos, and clean and perfect up close. Also, for an artist (me), the colors were wonderful. I felt like I was in a really special place. The light-- amazing.
Whoever designed the space-- I salute them.
Chelsea's loft in The Village Commons is a great location for your getaway in Traverse City. Even though we were there through the wine festival it was easy to park, we could walk to/from the festival (literally out the front door!), get around town, and still rest back at the loft. The balcony set up is probably the best part; scenic, quiet, and great for relaxing!
Chelsea and her loft where both amazing! Very warm and inviting. The building was great and offset the fluctuating weather. The galleries, restaurants, stores and shops all within the building or just across the street where a great reason to stay in and enjoy the view. The village was really close to downtown but really felt like a world away from everything. Perfect vacation.
