The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a small, family building on a quiet street and is situated 3 mins walk from the sea and a promenade which brings you to the centre of Datca, 7 minutes away. There are restaurants and cafes dotted along the promenade and beach front and at night some restaurants place their tables on the beach. Eating fresh fish in the light of the moon in the warm Datca evenings cannot be beaten!
The town has a friendly feel. It is lively without being touched at all by mass tourism which means it retains its charm. There is a weekly market selling local fresh fruit, vegetables, seasonal produce and clothes. From the harbour there are boat trips available to bays, beaches and historical sights along the coast where you can snorkel in the clear waters. Sailing and windsurfing is available in Datca and Marmaris is just over an hour away by car or bus.
If you like swimming, Datca bay is perfect as it’s calm and sheltered. There is a running trail along quiet beaches away from the town into a more rural setting.
The Datca peninsula is situated in south west Turkey between the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. It is dotted with picturesque bays and coves, turquoise sea, traditional villages and a dramatic mountainous interior. The area is famed for its olive groves, almond, honey and fresh fish. It is also believed to be one of the most oxygen rich areas of Europe, due to the flow of currents, narrow landmass and convergence of 2 seas. The historic site of Knidos is situated at the tip of the peninsula and Datca town is a boat ride away from the Greek island of Symi.
Come and experience Datca, you’ll fall in love and return again and again!
