We stayed at Cristina's apartment for 8 nights from the end of April until May 6. Cristina was very helpful through the entire process (via email and SMS). Her father, Peter, greeted us on arrival, showed us how everything worked, how to get places, and gave us round trip bus tickets to get us started for the next day.
The apartment is just as pictured. It is very private, with your own private entrance and garden. There was just a little noise from the entrance of the main part of the building - but not much.
Monteverde is a pretty classy neighborhood in Rome. Very nice homes and streets and none of the noise and chaos of central Rome. The street where the apartment is located is lined on both sides for three blocks with a market open most days with stalls for fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, bread, meat, fish, etc. It was great to walk out the gate and get fresh food every morning. There are also many stores on the main streets for buying anything you want.
You can easily walk to and from Gianicolo Hill or down to Trastavere or St. Peter's, but I would recommend taking the bus back (long, steep hills). The 75 bus is nearby, comes often and gets you close to major attractions (or near transfer points).
Staying at Cristina's made our time in Rome affordable and comfortable.
Nice one!!
Cristina's appartement was as described, had a lot of charm and was well located if you like not being in the middle of the tourist areas. Cristina's father was very nice with us, offering us to help and all. communication with Cristina was easy and painless too. Location is great, price is great, peoples are great, what are you waiting for ? Want to be a typical Roman for some time, this is the place.
This cosy appartment lies in a very nice quarter, however, it is situated below the gound level so it can be OK in summer, otherwise it is humid and dark. No radio, no TV. Combination of a bus and tram is good for seeing Rome from a new perspective. Cristina s parents are very nice people.
Christina's apartment was nice and cosy. We had a warm welcome by Christina's father. Who gave us some information. Cristina has lots of tourist information in her apartment, which was very handy. Unfortunately we didnt met in person, but the communication by phone was perfect. Thanks Cristina for your tips! The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood. Trastevere is a 20-minute walk from the apartment, but one could also take the bus (nr75).
We enjoyed our stay very much! Rome is lovable :)
We stayed 4 nights. The apartment is very well located and it was a pleasure to stay there. Very clean and very friendly, easy communication. We would like to stay there during our next trip to Rome.
About the Host, Cristina
Hello, I like outdoor sports and my hobbies are to go dancing. When possible I go travelling, and muddle with new cultures and people.
Music ist one of my strongest interests, because it livens my emotions.
Other interests: being in nature, agriculture, foodproduction, having a beer - or two, good conversations, I never reject a good party, cooking, technology, sustainability, repairing things,... Personal developement is hard work ;).
Use your brain to think - but use your heart to decide the important things.
Never take yourself too serious and don´t forget to laugh about yourself at least as much as you laugh about others.
Laughing and joking is very healthy for the soul and I always enjoy people with a similar sense of humor, e.g. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy!|!
