  • It's a nice place to spend your time in San Jose. Gabriel and Magdalena are helpful to show everything inside hostel and to tell where to go and what to see in the city. It's located in a safe neighborhood and the outside gate is locked at all times. It has good showers, lockers and beds. I couldn't think anything negative about this place!

  • I chose Nomadas because it is in quiet, safe and clean neighborhood. Also it is not too far from the airport. The hostel rooms were clean, neat and comfortable for a reasonable price. Gabriela and Magdalena were gracious hosts who helped plan my itinerary in Costa Rica. The hostel has a family-type atmosphere which is very conducive when one arrives in a foreign country. I enjoyed my stay at Nomadas and would recommend it to others who arrive in San Jose with further travel around Costa Rica. Mucho Gracias!

Gabriel and Magdalena are great hosts! We only needed the room for a few hours the night before our flight from San Jose in the morning, and Gabriel woke up at 4am to open the garage and help see us out. Nomadas is a clean and comfortable hostel and we'd like to return in the future!

  • Great place to land in San Jose. Gabriel and Magdalena are great hosts. They are very warm and welcoming. The hostel is relaxed and a good place to meet other travelers. The hosts are always available to give guidance and arrange transportation. Pura Vida!

  • The good point:

-Gabriel, the host is realy a good source of information for many things about this country.
-He can do the taxi between the house and the airport at the end of your travel.
-He can also help you with the bus schedule.
-There is a kitchen that everyone can use.
    -Good price
-Nice room where you can hangout.

The bad point ( for me)
-Only one outlet in the dormitory
-the shower is more cold than warm

  • Gabriel and Magdalena were sweet and wonderful hosts:) the private room (but no private bathroom) was alright in size and the showers were a little cold. but the overall living space was warm, cosy, inviting and created the perfect chill spot as well as a great area to mingle with other travelers. the house is a 5 minute walk + 7 minute bus ride away from the main town area and is a 30 minute bus ride away from the airport it's in a pretty great location too!

  • I had a great time at Nomadas! Gabriel and Magdalena and their boys are a very warm and welcoming family. The hostel is set up in a very friendly atmosphere which allows you to meet other travelers and enjoy your time in lively conversation and maybe even share a communal meal together. The hosts are very helpful with arranging taxis or other needs for your travels. I will be returning there on my way back from the coast. It's a great option for the budget traveler. So glad I found Nomadas!
