We had a very short trip (overnight only), but it was a great night's sleep in the world's most comfortable bed! Don and Polly (and the dogs) were very hospitable and helped us make ourselves at home. Great location just up the road from downtown Truckee.
Polly and Don were absolutely wonderful hosts. Although we only saw them a couple times during our stay the were extremely warm and made us feel extremely comfortable during our time in Truckee!
My wife & I spent 2 nights at Polly & Don's place & had a wonderful experience. Their property has great views & in a convenient location to access resorts & local restaurants. The food/tea available was delicious (& healthy). The 2 dogs & 2 cats were very friendly! It was great to have full access to the common spaces. Polly operates her massage business out of their home so we decided to take advantage of her "guest rate"...she is amazing! One of the best massages either of us have ever had. Be sure to book in advance. We'll be back!
The hosts responded promptly to emails, were friendly and their home was cozy. Room we stayed in was good size, we lacked for nothing.
Their animals (2dogs/2cats) were friendly and well behaved!
Polly and Don's room (and home) was lovely and their hospitality unmatched. We had a great stay and are eager to visit again.
We went up to Tahoe for a quick ski weekend. Polly and Don were in touch with us days before the trip to plan our arrival and had everything ready when we got there. The room is cozy, but has more than enough room for two people and all their skiing gear. A full bath is just across the hall, and the large living area (with gas-burning stove to warm your toes) is comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up whatever you might bring by, and Polly and Don left out water, fruit, and tea for us. There are fresh farm eggs in a basket for your breakfast, and bacon grease to cook them in if you like!
Brightening the stay even more were the cats and dogs. They are very friendly and affectionate, and would love for you to pet them forever. Coming back from skiing to take a cat nap with a cat cuddled up gets my thumbs up!
Polly and Don's place was perfect for our 2 nights stay. They are great hosts, with an equally charming home.
We had a cozy room available to us with and access to the living room, kitchen, backyard.
If you are a dog or cat lover, look no further. There are two adorable border collies and two fluffy cats to add further joy. We had a mmgreat time with them, they are extremely friendly.
The room has storage space for your suitcases, and clothes, besides for bed and could of chairs It has easy access to the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable if you don't mind it on the softer side. There are plentiful blankets and pillows to make you comfortable.
We had easy access to the kitchen both during night and during early mornings for breakfast. Polly had freshly baked muffins for us the second morning which were delicious. Overall, a perfect getaway place in Tahoe, with great hosts, views, and added treat for pet lovers. ( dogs, cats, hens ).
Don was a great host. Great to talk with him about Truckee, as well as the avalanche center work that he does. They left out some fresh eggs from their hens for breakfast. Wonderful to stay with them. Would gladly stay with them again.
Listing was accurate. Room is nice and private, and bathroom is just across the hallway
Their dogs are awesome. Brodie was super happy to play with us for as long as we wanted.
