And don't forget, there is a big park just a block from your door for your morning jog or an impromptu picnic, weather permitting. Every summer they host different monthly events. While the area is definitely an urban one, the apartment is very private with your own entrance and some closet storage for your items.

Also the busline is just two blocks south of the house and the MAX line is not far.

The infamous Alberta Arts District is just 5 (driving) minutes or 15 walking minutes south. It's fantastically entertaining on the 'Last Thursday (of the month's) Art Walk' with anything from fire dancers and stilt walkers to live DJs and dancin' in the street! It's got some cute boutiques, bars, bakeries and an unusually large number of Thai restaurants for one street. Vegans can enjoy the Bye and Bye for dinner and drinks or the Vita Cafe which is great for breakfast. Alberta Street also features the crazy popular Salt & Straw Ice Cream joint...I'm too afraid to go myself. I hardly need to cater to my ice cream addiction. Nonetheless,, I am always happy to make suggestions as I do have plenty of opinions;)
And if you'd like to do some cooking, the neighborhood P's & Q's Market carries some groceries and there are 2 New Season grocery stores just minutes away as well as Safeway, Fred Meyers (Krogers) and the Alberta Street Co-op. Andrée's apt is really a warm and lovely place for those travelers who want a quiet and comfortable place to stay! My parents had their first Airbnb experience and they said it's really beyond their expectation. This private apt has nearly everything you want and you can just take a bus nearby to the downtown area. Again thanks to Andrée's warm place and it gave us a really good memory in beautiful Portland :)
Cute, quaint, cozy space in a great location. Walking distance to breakside brewery with great beer and nachos. Would stay here again, highly recommend.
Despite our last minute booking, Andrée was more than accommodating. Her cozy basement studio was a great base of operations while we were in Portland. You could tell that every aspect of the studio was purposefully arranged to provide guests with special Portland experience.
Andree was very easy to deal with and check in/out was smooth. The place was great and as-described. Location was wonderful.
Andrée was very friendly and greeted us and showed us around. The flat was fully stocked and felt like a cozy home. Super close to the Alberta district which we really liked! Would definitely stay there again.
Andree was very welcoming and very accommodating. Her home was perfect for my friend and I to stay in for the short amount of time we were in Portland. We were able to meet her for a brief moment and she was the sweetest person! Her personality is definitely reflected in how she prepares her place for you. Thank you, Andree! It has been a pleasure.

About the Host, Andrée
I love music, dogs, dancing, gardening, and eating yummy meals with friends....maybe not at the same time though.
My sense of humor is slightly warped but I do enjoy making people laugh. I am really excited to share my home and some of my favorite restaurants/clubs and neighborhood hotspots with the new friends that I am looking forward to meeting via Airbnb!
Perfect for a jog past the Woodlawn Community Gardens or a fun romp with the dog, WL Park has a playground for children that, in the summertime, includes a water feature. Watch for events here!
You get your coffee hot. Your wi-fi free with lots of seating and even a spot out front to park your bike. Lots of commotion makes for a lively, caffeinated morning!
Kinda sporty, this funky new "green" building on the corner serves up beer and good pubstyle food; both lunch and dinner. Skip their cider. They have good local brews on tap. Nice open layout.
This little neighborhood pizzeria is a great spot to meet up and take a load off w some good food. Benches outside as well as plenty of bar/ table seating inside. Sometimes live entertainment too!
This movement space has several classes (mostly pilates and yoga) throughout the week. They offer a nice variety to a dedicated clientele. Quiet, inviting, comfortable. Great neighborhood spot.
Fantastic, locally grown meats and vegetables are used for their delicious brick oven pizzas, salads, and entrees. The space is cozy-even romantic and the service is top notch! And in MY neighborhood!
This funky, historical (upstairs) ballroom hosts meetings, music, djs & classes, inc Zumba & Ecstatic Dance (?). Folks are really laid back & an after class beverage is found a block in any direction!
Got a flat? He's here to help.
Friendly service & wonderful pastries are baked in-house...literally, it's a little duplex. Baking on one side /serve on the other- small on seating (inside/out) but very cozy and welcoming.
This huge consigment store is packed w jewlery, art, furniture, music, clothing, shoes, games, books, videos, rugs; any # of oddities depends on the day. Friendly staff, crazy cool stuff! Parking too!
They do "coffeehouse" a little differently. I appreciate their extended hours, the yerbe matte latte and fantastic pastries (including some gluten free options).
This is your standard small, neighborhood coop. Grab your quick snack fix while taking a stroll down Alberta.
Super funky old grade school that's become restaurants, soaking pool, several bars inside w pool tables and shuffle board. Also a theatre & nice courtyard area with huge fireplace. Great atmosphere!
Tennis anyone? Yeah, me neither. Let's just go hit the pool.
Fantastic breakfasts! They do meatless options well like the biscuits w almond gravy but I love their Country breakfast with chicken sausage! Yum! You will not go hungry!
Truly the friendliest store in town. Pick out your flowers on the way in-by the time you've selected your hormone free deli meat, picked local veggies & sniffed every candle, your arrangement is made!
This location is the one to hit if you are coming north on I-5. The selection is almost exactly the same as Concordia location. Bad parking lot but, after a few tasty samples, you may forgive them.
