The space

Emona Bled Apartments offer excellently located Bled accommodation in a fantastic position right in the centre of Bled town just two minutes walk to the lake and famous Grand Hotel Toplice. There are a wide range of restaurants, bars and other amenities in easy walking distance of the apartments. Lake Bled itself is a stunning alpine lake, surrounded by mountains, famous for its impossibly picturesque 17th century church on an island overlooked by a medieval castle. The Bled area is surrounded by beautiful scenery and things to do from walks around the lovely Vintgar Gorge and various hills surrounding the lake to great mountain walking and mountain biking on the Pokljuka Plateau, kayaking, canyoning and rafting on the Sava Bohinjka River and its tributaries, as well of course as swimming and boating on Lake Bled itself. Bled is also a great place to be based for exploring Slovenia's many ski areas - there is a small resort in the town itself but most skiers based in Bled visit the excellent resorts of Vogel, Krvavec & Kranjska Gora which are each half an hour's drive away (or there is a ski bus from Bled to Vogel / Krvavec). Bled is in a fantastic position for exploring Slovenia’s many sights with plenty of easy day trips possible including stunning Lake Bohinj just 25 minutes away, Slovenia’s pretty capital Ljubljana and the medieval town of Skofja Loka each just 45 minutes drive away.
Emona Bled Apartments offer a high standard of accommodation in a central but quiet location in Bled town. Each of the two apartments available for rent (apartments 3 & 4) has one double bedroom, one double sofabed (sleeps 2) and balcony, plus bathroom & large open plan living room / kitchen / dining room. Apartment 3 is on the first floor.

Interaction with guests

We will be in contact after booking to arrange everything concerning your arrival. As everything is arranged in advance there's no need for a meet and greet at the property, which gives you more flexibility on when you arrive. If you have any questions or problems before you arrive or during the stay then just feel free to call our guest hotline and we can assist over the phone or send someone out to the property to help as required.

The apartment was really nice, there was everything we need and it was really comfortable and clean! The only thing I have to say is that I suggest to change the images of the depliant you gave us, because it was a little bit difficult for us to find the apartment! For the rest, it was fantastic!! Location of the place is great, 2 mns walking from the lake. There is also a supermarket very close. The sofa is very big for extra sleepers. Wi-Fi was good. No noise from street as windows are soundproof. We had a problem with a fan and it has replaced very quickly. In case you are travelling with elderly people, beware that there are some stairs. Elevator was not working when we were there. Coffee lovers, be informed that there is no coffee machine.

Overall our trip to Bled was really lovely - but the apartment was a little disappointing. The location of the apartment is fantastic and you are in the heart of Bled only minutes from the lake! You can easily pop back to the apartment if you want to change after swimming. The hosts gave fantastic instructions on how to get the apartment and we were able to find it fine. However, nobody greeted us - infact nobody greeted us the whole stay. As for the apartment, it was OK. It had a large bed, balcony and a kitchen as well as a large front room with TV and electric stove for small cooking. However, the air conditioning did not work at all. It was very noisy and no air was coming out. Since we were there in July the apartment was already very warm. There was a stand fan available but it did not work, so our first night was very uncomfortable. The next day we rang to tell them about the A/C and the fan and they said they would replace the fan. What they did instead was to leave an unassembled fan in front of our door without any tools. We had to build the fan ourselves and use a knife to screw the screws in. The apartment also lacks a washing machine and an iron which would be useful. The balcony is nice, however the table and both chairs in the photo were not present. We have stayed in many nice AirBNBs over the years and this was probably our least favourite. Mostly because the apartment lacked any character (the price list for each night is in the help book!) - and also because nobody greeted us. Because it was so hot in there, we never really wanted to just chill in the apartment, choosing instead to spend as much time by the lake as possible (which is not a bad thing!). However, the location did make up for a lot of the downfalls, the apartment is OK for a base, but It's not a cosy flat (e.g. the windows overlook the large bins for the apartment and the bedroom balcony overlooks a car park above a restaurant). The apartment does have fast internet (but we had to ring the hosts to get the code)

Many thanks for your review and sorry to weren't 100% happy with the apartment. Regarding the meet and greet, our system is that we work with key safes so that guests have more flexibility to arrive and leave to suit their travel plans and don't need to fix a check in / check out appointment. Many guests really like this system especially as we also have a very friendly and responsive team on the end of a phone / email if you have any questions or problems and a really good guest info/ instruction pack provided by email you arrive and also printed inside the apartment (the guest info includes the price list you mentioned as this is a legal requirement from the tourist rental authorities in Slovenia. It also includes the Wifi code which you called to ask us for). The air-conditioning in the apartment is quite problematic and apologies if this was inconvenient. It does work, but because it is an old system which is run centrally across the building (rather than individual units in each apartment) it doesn't work very efficiently. We will remove this from our listings so there is no risk future guests might be disappointed. We did our best to get a replacement fan ASAP for you which we bought from a local store and delivered to the apartment when you were not there. Our cleaning lady seems not to have realised that this required installation but hopefully this just required a few minutes to put together and the main thing was that you had it as quickly as possible. Regarding washing machine and iron, whilst the apartment is well equipped it doesnt offer these two things and as such we do not state on any of our adverts that they are available. We will pass on the suggestion to the owners but if these were essential for your stay then you could have double checked with us before booking whether they are available or not and we would have confirmed they are not. The balcony on one side does indeed look over the parking area behind the building and you can see this on the pics on our listing. It is still a nice place to sit in the evening if you want to be outside and the balcony doors ensure lots of light and fresh air in the apartment. The balcony table and chairs are definitely there, sometimes if there has been rainy weather the cleaning lady puts them in a box on the balcony. If you couldnt find them I wish you had called and we could have sent someone over to assist. Regarding the comments about lack of character, the apartment is exactly as you see it on the photos and in the description on the listing. I'm sorry that it wasn't to your taste, but this is quite a subjective thing and we do have very many very satisfied guests staying with us, many of whom comment that the apartment is great value for the quality and comfort it offers in a central Bled location.

Great location. Clean, well equipped apartment, just as described. There is a lift you can use- helpful for luggage. Key collection arrangements worked well. Comfortable bed and large sofa bed.
