A stunning open plan warehouse conversion with a beautiful roof top swimming pool and BBQ area. My guest room sleeps 2 guests in a new queen bed. The apartment is located 5 minutes from a major train line or 20 minutes walk to the City!

The Space

The guest room, sleeps 2 adults in a queen sized bed.

The room is located in a modern open plan apartment with timber floors and natural light.

The room boasts a new queen sized bed with clean linen and towels, toiletries, full length wardrobe, digital television, chair, & wifi internet. The room is private, airy and opens to a balcony. There is a little street noise.

A clean and tidy bathroom with bath and shower, toiletries are supplied and limited use of washing machine, generally 1 load per stay but please do not arrive with your dirty washing (this has happened on several occasions!)

I also supply a breakfast of eggs, cereals, toast, tea and coffee which you help yourself to.

There is a full feature gym including treadmills, step machine, machine weights and free weights – all included in the nightly charge of the room, perfect for tourist or business trips to Sydney!

The building also features a stunning rooftop swimming pool and BBQ area - after a day sightseeing relax with a swim and cook your meal on the BBQ's provided.

The apartment is located in inner city Redfern. Redfern is known for young professionals and trendy locals and offers funky cafes and pubs while being a 25 minute walk to the city or Sydney University. An excellent mix of restaurants and cafes of Surry Hills is also a short stroll away.

The apartment is a 5 minute walk to Redfern train station, just 1 stop from Central Station or walk into the heart of Sydney in 25 minutes. This train station services all lines including Bondi Junction, City Circle and North Shore Lines.

Sightseeing starts here!

You will also be sharing the apartment with Oscar, a friendly and quiet Australian kelpie dog and a large tropical aquarium.

Feel free to drop me a line and chat about your visit to Sydney before you book.

I have lived in Sydney for 17 years and have hosted several home stay students. I love talking about Sydney and suggesting what to see and do while you enjoy the stay!

Interaction with Guests

Having been an Airbnb host for over a year I understand the importance of guest interaction. While I am happy to chat and exchange stories and travel tips, I am equally happy to offer peace and quiet.

Oscar, my dog, also is happy to sit back and observe - he really doesn't demand much attention.

  • Spencer's place is great. Location only 8 minutes walk from a train station which is one stop from Sydney Central. Nice modern unit and comfy bed. Most importantly, a friendly, welcoming, and considerate host, or I should say "hosts" to include Spencer's faithful pooch Oscar.

  • Cozy place. Great location except the noise at night. Very friendly host.

  • We had an absolutely fantastic time with Spencer and Oscar! Spence was a lovely, friendly, helpful and kind host and was more than willing to answer any questions about our visit and places to go in Sydney, as well as sharing tips and tricks that made our stay a really fantastic (and much easier and cheaper) experience.

The apartment was brilliant. Very close to the railway station as well as a supermarket, bakery, fruit shop and amazing range of edgy and eclectic cafes, boutiques and op-shops. Redfern has had a bad reputation in the past, but this is not at all the case now. Being two girls, we felt absolutely safe walking home from the train station through Redfern at night and there wasn't a single time in our 10 day stay that we felt threatened. On the contrary Redfern is a trendy, young suburb with lots more to offer than just a great central location.

The room itself was beautiful and light with floor to ceiling windows and a big wardrobe for storing our suitcases (and shopping!). The rest if the apartment was open, spacious and immaculate and the BBQ/pool outdoor area upstairs is beautiful!

Spence made us feel so welcome and at home at his place and we had an absolutely fantastic time staying with he and Oscar. We'll definitely be coming back next time we visit Sydney, and recommending Spence to all our friends!

  • Spencer's room was excellent, nice big bed, closet with lots of hangers and space to put your luggage away, and the apartment is absolutely awesome. The terrace with the pool and barbeque is a wonderful gem - absolutely not to be missed!
Redfern is an interesting area, lots of cool vintage shops just across the street; superb Vietnamese food next door at Yen's hole-in-the-wall (don't be deceived by the simple look of it!). Short walk to the train station.
Spencer was super friendly and helpful, and we loved his dog Oscar - a very sweet and calm old gentleman. :)

  • Our stay at Spencer's apartment was a very memorable experience. The listing was excellent. Just as we expected. Spencer is a very likable host. Very generous, kind and very helpful. He went out of his way to make us very comfortable. Oscar, was no problem to us. In fact we became best of friends by the time were leaving.

  • Great location, handy to transport. Lovely host clean room, and great amenities. A bit of street and traffic noise to contend with at night but may not bother everyone. Thanks for a great stay. Amazing place.

  • We loved our stay with Spencer and Oscar. We had a great room with tv and towels, and a card with the wifi on it, as well as guides book for Sydney which was a lovely idea. He welcomed us into his home and made us a cup of tea after our long travels to get there which was greatly appreciated. Great roof facilities with bbq's and pool, dining area and seating areas. Spencer also gave us great recommendations for eating out. Only negative is you can hear some traffic noise in the morning which may wake light sleepers up.

  • Great stay in Sydney with Spencer. He is a wonderful, welcoming and gracious host. He was more than happy to share tips for visiting Sydney and Australia highlights. The room has a comfortable bed (bring ear plugs if a light sleeper due to road noise) and large closet for storage. Fridge/kitchen/ laundry available to use. The apartment is located a few minutes walk from redfern station (1 station from central). There is a supermarket and fruit market just down the street from apmt. On redfern Street, there are many cafes and coffee shops. Overall, a very convenient and comfortable location for touring Sydney. Would love to return.

  • Big thank you to Spencer (and Oscar!) for hosting me for two nights. It was an enjoyable stay and Spencer was hospitable, friendly and welcoming. The place was close to the conference centre and I found it convenient. It comes highly recommended and I will be back next time I'm up in Sydney! Thank you!

Professional guy that loves to travel! Enjoy discussing travel stories. I have lived in Sydney for 15 years and love the city. Always keen to chat about the sort of experiences you would like while staying in Sydney and help to plan Itineraries. Whether it be a visit to Circular Quay or the Museum of Contemporary Art or perhaps a visit to the beaches of the Central Coast or down to Kiama to see the blow hole. Went to school on the Gold Coast in Queensland and have family there, so may be able to help with forward planning your Australian trip. Have also lived in regional centers in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland - happy to advise holiday spots.
