The space

The private guest room has recently been updated with new carpet, paint and furniture. It sleeps 2 adults in a queen sized bed with luxury bedding.

The guest room is located in a modern two bedroom open plan apartment with timber floors, natural light and air conditioning. As host I live in the apartment and sleep in the second bedroom.
The restyled guest room boasts a queen sized bed with luxury bedding and towels, full length wardrobe, mirror, digital television fixed to the wall & unlimited wifi broadband. The guest room is private with natural light that opens to a balcony. Please note that there is some traffic and general street noise so if you are a light sleeper it maybe advisable to book elsewhere or bring earplugs!

At check in my guests receive a welcome pack that contains Aussie wine or beer, biscuits, sweets and bottled water.

Being one of Sydney's original Airbnb hosts I understand how important it is not to have your travel plans canceled at the last minute. Since becoming an Airbnb host four years ago I am proud that I have never canceled a guest booking. Stay with an established Airbnb host!

A clean and tidy bathroom with bath and shower, toiletries are supplied and limited use of washing machine, generally 1 load per stay but please do not arrive with your dirty washing direct from home (this has happened on several occasions!)

I also supply a breakfast of eggs, cereals, toast, tea and coffee which you help yourself to. There is a new espresso coffee machine with a large variety of pods.

There is a fully equipped gym including treadmills, step machine, machine weights and free weights – all included in the nightly charge of the room, perfect for business or pleasure trips to Sydney!

The building also features a stunning rooftop swimming pool and BBQ area - after a day sightseeing relax with a swim and cook dinner on the BBQ's.

While the apartment is air conditioned there is no separate unit in the guestroom however the cool air does flow into the guestroom with the door open.

The apartment is located in Inner City Redfern. Redfern is known for young professionals and trendy locals and offers funky cafes and pubs while being a 20 minute walk to the City Centre or Sydney University. Sydney's Best Neighbourhood Bar for 2016 is only 100 metres away from the apartment!

While only being one train stop away from the city Redfern is not in the heart of the tourist area. It's an Inner City suburb that is ideally situated to explore Sydney's exciting City of Villages away from the traditional tourist areas.

If you wish to stay in the traditional tourist areas may I suggest you look for accommodation in the Darling Harbour and Circular Quay areas.

An excellent mix of restaurants and cafes of Surry Hills and Newtown is also a short stroll from my apartment.

The apartment is a 5 minute walk to Redfern train station, just 1 stop from Central Station or walk into the heart of Sydney in 20 minutes. This train station services all lines including Bondi Junction, City Circle and North Shore Lines.

I welcome new guests to Airbnb however kindly ask that you complete the profile section, listing your home country and city and a little information about yourself before sending a request to stay. Also in the 'verify my account' section please link a social media account and upload a passport or drivers license. As a host I do not see that information I simply know that Airbnb are holding that data.

As I am opening up my home to you it really is reassuring to know about my guests ahead of accepting the booking.

- 'Apartment is located further from train station that I expected'.
As mentioned in the description the apartment is a simple 5 minute walk from Redfern train station.
- 'There is no off street parking'.
Correct. There is no off street parking, therefore I DO NOT list that parking is available.
- 'The road noise can be quite loud from time to time'.
Correct. Street noise can be quite noisy during peak times, this is clearly detailed within the description. If you are a light sleeper its advisable to bring ear plugs or book elsewhere.

If you are looking for a traditional 5 star hotel experience then please look elsewhere. If you are looking for a clean, tidy, friendly, and welcoming experience for your Sydney stay then this listing is ideal.

My guests have their own new fridge freezer and use of the kitchen for light meals.

Monday to Friday check in anytime after 2.15pm - simply advise and I will ensure I am home to welcome you.

Weekends are mostly flexible.

I hope the above times fit with your plans. There are plenty of coffee shops nearby to relax at ahead of check in. Or leave your luggage in the lockers at Central Station and grab lunch in Chinatown ahead of check in.

While I am happy to accept new guests to Airbnb with no previous reviews I would kindly ask that you verify a few details ahead of sending a booking request.

If I am opening up my home to you then please have uploaded a recent photograph and verified email or verified other third party web sites from the 'edit profile page' on your Airbnb dashboard.

As I host I do not see the details of your passport etc (it is held by Airbnb) it allows me to ensure the person placing the booking will be the person staying.

Spencer's place is a lovely apartment and just 4 mins walk from Redfern station. Close to city but filter out those noises and hussels. I am sure you will enjoy staying with him.

Spencer is a nice man with warmheart! It's lucky to be able to stayed in his home and he gived some delicious food and wine to welcome us..btw, i totally enjoyed the wine:D The rooms are well equipped and we can cook breakfast in the kitchen. The bedroom has a small balcony, the bed has electric blanket, sooooo warm and comfortable! There was an awesome living experience in Sydney and in Spencer's :)

Beautiful property in an incredible location! So close to the city, transport links and the supermarket! Spacious and airy room with a heated blanket! Free breakfast was plentiful - eggs/toast/cereals and great coffee. Very clean and Spencer was a great helpful host. I'd highly recommend! Welcome pack was a great touch too.
