  • First time using airbnb and cannot say I was disappointed in any way. Spence is a great host and has a groovy apartment quite central to everything I had planned for my trip. Would definitely recommend!

  • I attended a conference in the city and am grateful to Spencer for his well placed, airy and cheerful apartment and gracious hosting - this included early morning wake up calls to ensure I would not be late. The bedroom contains a comfortable bed, good pillows, bedside table, plenty of cupboard space and its own TV. There is a separate fridge for guests to use, which is great. Spencer has lots of tourist literature available to help guests enjoy Sydney. Oscar responds well to Schmakos which Spencer has in plentiful supply to help you make friends with his dog. I had no time to explore the gym and pool and was happy to do some work and have a cup of tea on the balcony. Nearby are the fruit shop, an IGA, various eateries, an interesting op shop and cafes. I took up one of Spencer's suggestion to try out the nearby unpretentious Wah Fund I can recommend its inexpensive and generous (2 person portions) of sliced duck and egg noodles tossed in oyster sauce. Beware that the Redfern train station does not have lifts so pack well and travel lightly. If you are a light sleeper, you may require ear plugs but I slept soundly every night. The apartment is as photographed, with the bedroom at one end of the apartment, near the balcony. Spencer responds patiently and quickly to enquiries, which is helpful for getting ready to come to Sydney and to get to his apartment.

  • Had a lovely stay at Spencer's. Spence was a gracious host and very welcoming.Would definitely recommend a stay at Spencer's place. Oscar (Spencer's dog) is good fun to have around the house and very friendly. The location is great and close to the station. Apartment is lovely.

  • This was our first true booking, contact and stay on Airbnb and we LOVED it. Spencer should be an Ambassador for Airbnb, he is the most charming, kind, accommodating helpful host. His place was perfect, from the central location to the nice airy open apartment, with these great high ceilings, to the roof top pool and area, as well as the indoor gym that we took great advantage of; and Oscar the dog was a nice added element. "Living with" a host in their home was a first experience for us, but if all the Air hosts are all half as great as Spencer, then the Airbnb travel is a wonderful thing! Only thing that was a small issue for us was a bit of street noise coming in our guest bedroom, but we love sleeping with doors wide open and being from a rural Hawaii setting, we are just not use to the city and
traffic noise. Will be recommending Spencer's place to all or our Hawaii friends heading to Sydney!

  • Spencer was the perfect host and the apartment is beautifully furnished and well located close to the train station and to Sydney city centre. My girlfriend and I had the upstairs open area practically to ourselves on a sunny Saturday, it's very relaxing up there. Apartment comes with patrolling security in the form of Oscar the dog, he is great with guests.

  • We have just spent one wonderful week at Spencer's and Oscar's house. Spencer is a trully very nice person, always available and happy to share his knowledge of Sydney. He made us feel like home from the very first day. Oscar is a friendly and nice dog. Don't hesitate to pat him he loves that.
The appartment is very comfortable and very well located, 5 min from redfern station (with all the lines to visit all famous spots).
The bedroom is very comfortable and clean, with a large wardrobe.
Thanks to our new friend Spencer!!! We really hope to come back soon!

  • Spencer is a very nice host. We had a great time at his place. Very comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast in the balcony. We had a great BBQ dinner at the roof top.
we enjoy talking with Spencer, be it about Australia, my country and especially about Oscar.
Oscar is such a wonderful dog. He will welcome us when we come back. Sometimes he even escort me to the washroom, did a round check! I love him coming to our room, occasionally sleeping with us. He is well behaved. I am missing him.
If only I am nearby, I will take care of him when you travel.

Professional guy that loves to travel! Enjoy discussing travel stories. I have lived in Sydney for 15 years and love the city. Always keen to chat about the sort of experiences you would like while staying in Sydney and help to plan Itineraries. Whether it be a visit to Circular Quay or the Museum of Contemporary Art or perhaps a visit to the beaches of the Central Coast or down to Kiama to see the blow hole. Went to school on the Gold Coast in Queensland and have family there, so may be able to help with forward planning your Australian trip. Have also lived in regional centers in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland - happy to advise holiday spots.
