The Space

Hi there! I have a private room available to guests in my two bedroom apartment. My place is located in the neighborhood of Goose Hollow, which is a five minute walk from Portland State University and nestled right behind (4 blocks) downtown. This is a great place for someone who is doing an internship at the University, stopping through for work downtown, or simply looking for a great location from which to explore the city.
Being three blocks from the MAX station and bus stop and having close-in west side neighborhoods accessible by foot means having a car really isn't necessary to get around. If you are driving in or do decide to rent a car, street parking is available with a pass and is usually plentiful. Washington Park's running trails, the Rose Garden, and the Arboretum are all accessible about a 1/2 mile up the street, and the Timber's field is just a few blocks away. The upgraded bathroom is shared, and there are two well behaved cats who live here. Full access is granted to the well stocked kitchen with a gas stove and stainless steel appliances, the sheets will be clean and pressed, there is laundry in the building.
Let me know your situation and we can chat! I'm a professional female who enjoys a variety of social activities but is quite active and rarely home.

Guest Access

Everything in the apartment is intended to be shared, with the exception of the bedrooms. Please make yourself comfortable in your room, feel free to store food in the cabinets and fridge, unpack your toiletries into the bathroom, and relax with a drink on the porch. The space is meant to be enjoyed.

Interaction with Guests

While this is my full time residence, I often have commitments that take me away for various amounts of time. I tend to be quite busy when I am home as well, and this usually results in fairly limited interaction.
If we do happen to be home at the same time I enjoy conversation and shared meals, but I don't expect it from those who stay with me.

The Neighborhood

Goose Hollow is a cute, quiet, and perfectly located little neighborhood that often goes unnoticed because of it's size. We are a little pocket at the base of the west hills that is bordered by Portland State University, downtown, and the Timber's stadium on the other three sides. You will see many residents here displaying white Geese in their windows, it's Goose Hollow pride.

Getting around

Portland has great public transportation; the MAX train, the street car, and the bus.
I am located three blocks up from a the bus and MAX stop, and the street car is a ten minute walk south. All are very convenient to use and I have maps and schedules in the room for you to reference. They may be (email hidden)

  • A really comfortable stay in a quiet neighbourhood that's still just a few train stops from downtown (or 15-20 minute walk). Victoria was a really accommodating host, providing tips on the local area and offering suggestions for new places to check out. Spending downtime relaxing with the cats on the balcony with a view was an added bonus.

  • We really liked this room in Portland Oregon. It is a nice room with a very comfortable and huge bed. It also has a small closet but enough for a couple of days of staying. The location is great, walking distance from one of the MAX light rail service stations and close to downtown. We were walking all days from the apartment to downtown, sometimes late at night and the neighborhood is very quiet and safe (At least we didn't experience any troubles). In the early morning of our last day, we actually used the close by MAX station to go back to the airport and it was very convenient (about 45-50 minutes ride).

If you like cats, Victoria's cats are lovely, very friendly and waiting for you every time you get into the house. Just keep the doors closed if you don't want them to follow you into the room and keep playing. There is only one shared bathroom in the apartment but it was never an issue for us. The bathroom was clean and Victoria provided us with some towels. We also used a couple of times the kitchen and her fridge, both were very neat. Last but not least, it was really easy to set up the check in/out with Victoria and every time we asked a question or text her she was promptly replying to us. Great experience, highly recommended!

  • Victoria was a wonderful host, warm and welcoming but completely unimposing. She made me feel at home in her beautiful apartment (the pictures don't do it justice!), and was helpful and kind.

The room is super comfy (the bed is HUGE), and has everything you need. The apartment is in a residential area but close to lots of touristy things and next to some great dining options. I recommend Elephant Deli nearby - amazing place for lunch! You're walking distance from Washington Park and the Rose Garden & Japanese Gardens inside.

    Highly recommend Victoria's!

  • It was just so nice to be with you Victoria!!!! It was my first Airbnb experience but I think that it will stay the best one ever. It was really easy with you.
The apartment is really well located, it's easy to walk to downtown, to the pearl,…

I definitively recommend to everyone to book the Victoria's room.

I hope come to see you soon :)

  • Although I didn't get to spend much time with Victoria due to our busy schedules, she was so easy to coordinate with and was always available via text for any questions I had. The bed was comfy and the apartment was clean. Thanks Victoria!

  • Victoria was a great host, very sweet, very accommodating to any needs I had!
Her cats are adorable and big snugglers :D. She had juice and bagels available for me every morning and checked up on me every day to make sure I was okay! Location was super close to downtown Portland, 10 min walk away.

    Definitely recommend!!!

  • Victoria was a wonderful and lovely host; she went out of her way time and time again to make sure I was comfortable. And as many others have said, her cats are as sweet as can be! The apartment was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located (many neighborhoods are in walking distance, and the Max is very close). For anyone who is looking for a great place to stay and a host who will make them feel truly at home, then you can't get any better than Victoria's apartment!

  • I recently stayed with Victoria for a night and it was the perfect stopover in Portland! She made me feel comfortable and right at home in her apartment. She had lots of nice little touches such as a welcome note for me in the bedroom with little reminders about the apartment (extra blankets, helping yourself to tea/coffee, food, and even toiletries, and other tips on the place). She was also easy to chat to and had some great tips on the area. She also keeps her place very clean and tidy. I would definitely stay there again if I were to visit Portland (and it is a great location to downtown - I walked everywhere but the MAX public transport is also just down the road) and would recommend it to anyone else looking. Many thanks Victoria!

  • Victoria is a great host and has a really lovely home with two super cool cats. It's perfect if you're planning on spending most of your time on the west side of Portland. My only issue was how much fragrance was used in the house, but I also never use fragrance so I'm a little sensitive too it. It all smelt good, just a little overwhelming if you aren't used to it (or have a massive hangover).

Professional, active female who takes classes at Portland State University and is currently renting out the spare bedroom in my apartment to short or long term travellers who would like comfortable accomodations in a beautiful apartment. Walking distance to nearly everything downtown, I am also three blocks from the MAX, in a beautiful area for running and walking, near washington park and the gardens, and a short streetcar ride from the pearl and NW 21st and 23rd streets. Furthermore, I am only a five minute walk from Portland State University. I do have two cats, so allergic people beware! They are great and well behaved. Thank you for your inquiry, please contact me with any questions, I am quite flexible with arrangements and can possibly provide transportation from airport, train station, and more.
