MI CASA ES TU CASA!
All of the hosts at the cabanas are super accommodating. They are always around on the property for questions. The cabanas are exactly how they are described. Quite minimal but perfect for a getaway from the modern world. Also. you can not beat the location in Tulum. Steps from the beautiful beaches and a huge cenote. It's located just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the large boutique hotels and resturants, but close enough to get there in just a few moments via bicycle.
All good! Beautiful. Generous.
This is a nice little room. It is a hut, so you get the true off-grid living experience. It's definitely a hostel-like setting, with international backpackers from everywhere with shared bathrooms and kitchen. It's at the far end of the beach strip. Only suggestion is for the Xbalamque staff to be a bit more knowledgeable about tours and information as settling in was difficult as we didn't know how to get around, where to eat, etc and ended up asking all this information at the hotel across the street.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel extremely welcome by Leo, Andrea and Diego. The rustic cabanas in the jungle were exactly what we were looking for. Listening to the breeze and the noises from the jungle while falling asleep was heaven. The common areas were cozy and the cenote was beautiful.
the cabana was as pictured. Andrea was a great hostess and very helpful with advice and let us leave our bags after checkout to help with our logistics. The vibe is very laid back and picturesque. It was an easy walk to the ocean, there was a kitchen to share.
Restaurants were more expensive than my hometown in the US. Getting to town was only available by $15 each way taxi which made coming and going impractical. Still I would recommend because the location is spectacular with beautiful Caribbean access and a cenote with kayaks included in the price.
Las cabañas de XBALAMQUÉ son una experiencia única. Muy recomendable el lugar por el acceso al cenote y por su proximidad a la playa. Un ambiente agradable y distendido. La atencion personalizada de Leo y Andrea contribuye a ello.
So this place was like a dream. You don't actually meet Jose, however Ariel who looks after this place is an absolute delight. Such a lovely kind man. They have a beautiful Cenote running past the back of the place and he took me and my friend out into the Cenote one day and tried to teach us how to snorkel. It really was a truly amazing experience and I fell in love with Tulum. You need to rent bikes otherwise you will spend 70% of your days walking.
If you don't like nature and showering in communal areas outside this probably is not the place for you. There's also no escaping the mosquitos.
My only criticisms for this amazing place is that they only have power from approx 7pm-2am which meant most nights waking up feeling like I was being suffocated by the heat as the fan obviously stopped working once the electricity went off. Maybe a battery powered pocket fan would be useful.

I´m a Cancun fan that wants to share this beautiful paradise with people all over the world.
I love Music, I love to sing, play the guitar and invite my friends to sing along with me. Im a fresh food fan and I think I know the best restaurants in Cancun, and they´re not necessarily the expensive ones.
I´m a proud Mexican and I love Mexico´s History.
I deeply respect and enjoy nature and animals.
I would like my guests to think of me as an easygoing, down to earth, Bohemian kind of guy.
I don´t really have a life motto in particular but if I had one it would be something like: Share Love and respect everyone.
