Ok, so maybe I'm a little biased. But having spent the last four years in this neighborhood, (and the decade before bouncing around every other neighborhood in the city), I feel like that makes me a little bit of an expert. ;) But you don't have to take my word for it...
Just a couple of blocks away from the historic Alamo Square Park (near the "Full House" Houses, the Painted Ladies), my apartment is right smack in the middle of the action. Coffee shops, greasy spoon diners, vintage stores, wine bars, lounges, and some of the best restaurants in the city--it's all here. And all within walking distance.
Now, for the apartment:
Located within a 6-unit building, this 1+ bdrm is located on the second floor, up a short flight of stairs (10-12 steps). The bedroom is on the smaller side, but has a super comfy and cozy queen size bed. In traditional Edwardian style, the toilet room and shower room are separate (which makes getting ready super convenient). A large living room stays bright and sunny throughout the day, and is equipped with a 42" TV, as well as Apple TV and a Playstation, and a large kitchen is perfect for hanging out in, while cooking with friends. There's an office off of the kitchen, with a little patio/balcony area perfect for grilling when the weather permits.
Getting around town couldn't be easier from this area. A quick bus ride can take you downtown to Union Square, the Financial District, or over to the Marina, down to the Mission, over to Golden Gate Park... You name it. If you'd rather navigate the city by foot, you're minutes away from Hayes Valley, the Fillmore jazz district, cool Lower Haight, and Lower Pac Heights.
There's no designated parking spot, but street parking around here isn't so bad. It can be tricky at certain times of the evening, but I haven't had any major issues. And there's no permit required in this neighborhood, so you don't have to worry about moving your car every two hours.
There's no smoking, and pets MIGHT be considered, but you'll need prior approval. (Please note: I DO have a French Bulldog, who will not be present, but if you're allergic to pets, you might want to consider this.)
Myra was a great host! Her apartment is a perfect place to stay in San Fransisco. It's close to Alamo Square Park, public transit, and a lot of cool bars and restaurants. Myra left us a helpful list of her favorite places in the neighborhood to check out, and also gave us clear instructions about how to access the apartment. I would definitely stay at Myra's place again!
Myra's apartment was fantastic! It's a beautiful combination of bright, artistic and comfy, the pictures do it great justice. Each room has such character, which we loved. The living room and kitchen are spacious which was great for making dinner and watching a movie.
Myra was not able to meet us for check in or check out, but provided us with great detailed instructions and neighborhood suggestions.
The neighborhood is awesome. Walking to Divisidero for drinks and eats was perfect and The Mission was also a longer but easy walk for us to explore such a lively area.
We would definitely stay here again, no question!
We loved Myra's apartment! The location was great, the flat was spacious and comfortable, and we loved the stylish decor. There were lots of cool restaurants, bars & markets within short walking distance, and public transportation was easy in getting to other neighborhoods. Myra checked in on us via text several times, which was nice. We would definitely stay there again.
We had an fantastic stay in Myra's apartment - beautiful, spacious, comfortable, clean and perfectly designed. The location of the apartment was great, too, it was close to main bus lines and minutes away from Alamo Square and the painted ladies and other great spots (we were thrilled to discover that it was in short walking distance to a second, less crowded location of bi-rite creamery!) Myra was also a pleasure to communicate with, quick to respond and gave us some great tips. I would recommend her place to anyone staying in San Francisco.
Myra's apartment is in a really great part of San Francisco, only a short walk from lots of cool bars and restaurants. The apartment was clean and secure, with loads of space to relax in. Myra was easy to get hold of if needed and really helpful. Her recommendations on where to eat and drink were much appreciated. We'd definitely stay again next time we're in town. Thanks Myra!
Myra was a fantastic host. Very much available by text anytime. And check-in/out were both very easy and smooth.
Her place was even better. Really awesome apartment in a very hip SF neighborhood. We hung out at Mojo Cafe and The Mill all day.
Myra's place was in a fantastic location. There are tons of great restaurants and lots of vintage second hand shopping nearby which my girlfriend loved. It is also near Golden Gate Park which was great for morning runs. The building is older but I think that's just typical SF character. We had a great time and would highly recommend Myra's apartment.
Myra's place was wonderful. My gf and I stayed for 4 nights and found everything clean and well-maintained with lots of cool art decorating the space. The apartment was located in a convenient and safe neighborhood with tons of shops and cafes nearby, as well as the park and buses. Myra left suggestions for grabbing coffee and good eats in the neighborhood, and we tried out 3 places on her list (eddie's, matching half cafe, the mill), which were all great. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!
This iapartment is in one of the most popular neighborhoods in SF. So many coffeehouses, shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. You can tell that Myra takes a lot of pride in her apartment. Not only is everything clean and comfortable - you'll basicàlly want to go home and redecorate your place like hers. Due to a troublesome lock, I had a bit of drama getting in to the apartment, but Myra was very helpful and responsive and everything went great once that was resolved. We hope to be back! Thanks, Myra.
From the moment we arrived at the flat we felt totally relaxed and unburdened . Myra left clear directions as to how to open her gate and door. Then walking into the flat was bliss. The ambiance is soothing and an escape from the hectic world outside. We loved how we were so close to Alamo Square and the Lower Haight. We even stopped at the new Bi Rite market super close! Overall, this was our first airbnb experience and we couldn't have wished for anything better. Myra is such an attentive host and will help make your stay effortless even in such a complex city as San Francisco is.
