The Space

*** Please note: my lovely room is available this year, but starting in April, there will be construction occurring on a neighbour's home, Monday to Friday. No weekends and no rainy days, though!
(Update: The construction has begun and the noise level has been very reasonable.)

I have a big, beautiful room for rent in my absolutely wonderful Plateau apartment.

The apartment is situated in the heart of the neighbourhood on avenue Laval. This street is known for its fantastic central location and beautiful character homes.

About the neighbourhood -

The Plateau is the most desired neighbourhood in Montreal. There are endless great restaurants to try, endless lovely shops to visit and the architecture is absolutely beautiful!

If you walk in any direction for 5 minutes from this apartment, you will find yourself (email hidden)ly street that has some of the best restaurants, cafes, bars & shops that Montreal has to offer. The location is also very ideal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts being a 10-minute walk to the mountain and its adjacent parks.

Here are some things to do on/around the mountain:

• take a hike to the lookout or the Mont Royal Cross (both pictured above)
• go for a jog up the mountain path
• enjoy the mountain bike paths (bikes can be rented around the corner from the apartment)
• sit and watch a football or soccer game
• suntan
• have a picnic (In summer, there are always people picnicking in these parks day & night. You can even bring a bottle of wine; drinking in parks is allowed by law as long as you have food.)
• enjoy the Tam-Tam festival every Sunday

About the apartment -

It is the top floor of a triplex and features exposed brick in both bedrooms and the kitchen, hardwood floors, a sunroom with hammock, balcony, spacious bathroom (shared with me), washer & dryer, dishwasher, a friendly cat and a quiet host. There is a view of the Mont Royal Cross from the sunroom and the roof is accessible from the front balcony (a great place for yoga, tanning, reading or just gazing at the sky).

It is a safe and pleasant ten-minute walk to the Mont Royal or Sherbrooke metro stations on the orange line and it is easy to get here from the bus and train stations. It is also only one metro stop away from where the airport shuttle bus leaves you.

About the room -

It is large with a 12-foot exposed brick wall and features self-controlled heating, a white flat screen tv with dvd/blue ray player and Netflix all to yourself, a comfy arm chair, an alarm clock, a dresser, a full-length mirror, a beautiful old chest and a very comfortable double-sized memory foam futon. A nearby basilica is visible from the window and the bells toll softly at noon and six.

Also in the room is a binder full of business cards from local restaurants, cafes, shops, banks, gyms, spas, etc. You can check out the 'guidebook' (click on the Maps tab above) for a comprehensive view of all these places.

I have been living in this wonderful city for 5 years and am more than willing to share whatever knowledge of it I have. I'm happy to accommodate so please let me know if there is anything that I can do to make your stay more enjoyable!

  • We spent a great time at Nathalie's house; she is very nice and made everything to provide us a maximum of comfort and wellness to the slightest detail. Nathalie's appartment is calm, spacious and clean; we specially loved the hamac in the veranda beside the living room; the bedroom is lovely, the bed is extremly comfortable. Her appartment is very well located in the center of Le Plateau, where we had fun, spendind good time in cafes, shops and restaurants.
    We highly recommend Nathalie's place!

  • This is indeed a beautiful bricked plateau room located in the center of all the attractions in Montreal. Very clean and safe as well. Natalie, the host, is extremely nice and eager to help with all your questions. She is also very organized and has much information on the surrounding areas and where to go.

I had some pain and she was nice enough to lend me her hot compress to make it better.

  • Natalie was a lovely host. She was nice, always available to help with anything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The places is as nice and beautiful as the pictures: it is very clean, organized and nicely decorated. The apartment is well located as it is close to major touristic sites and bus routes and yet in a very calm and quiet neighbourhood. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

  • This place is just great! Natalie's apartment is very cosy, comfortable and clean, and it is located in a fantastic neighborhood. Natalie is probably the perfect Air BnB host. She was very helpful, friendly and nice to talk to. I really recommend Natalie's room to anyone coming to Montréal.

  • It was my first trip to Montreal and my first experience with Airbnb. Both experiences far exceeded my expectations. Natalie's place is on a beautiful street in an incredible neighbourhood. It is close to shopping, restaurants, café's and the Metro. Natalie is an amazing person which easily translates into her being an amazing host. From her sharing Bagels for breakfast to great recommendations for restaurants and site seeing, my time in Montreal was definitely enhanced by my stay at Natalie's. No question I would stay there again on my next trip back.

  • I highly recommend this listing. It was my first airbnb experience, and fantastic from the start. Natalie is a pro at hosting! I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, and was pleased at the care taken in the small details- extra shampoo in case a traveler forgets, and Montreal bagels and jam in the fridge are generous touches. Natalie also took the time to get to know me, and it was so nice chatting with her. The location couldn't be better or more walkable, and the apartment itself was neat, clean, and sunny. Thanks to Natalie I had a wonderful visit to Montreal, and can't wait to return!

  • Staying in Natalie’s lovely apartment and neighbourhood was one of the highlights of my trip to Quebec. Her home is very nicely located on one of the loveliest (and quietest) streets in Plateau Mont-Royal and just adjacent to Rue St Denis with all its great shops and eateries. She is a great host and I immediately felt right at home in her place. Corky the cat was equally welcoming and won me over in no time!

  • Natalie was a fantastic host! Very thoughtful and more than happy to offer advice of where to go and things to do. My partner and I felt very welcomed and respected. We would not hesitate to book with Natalie again.

The apartment and bedroom were sparkling clean, comfortable and the decor was great too! We were out quite a bit but would not have any qualms about spending a day at the apartment reading a book or watching a movie if the weather wasn't the greatest. I'm sure if we had a bit more time in Montreal, I would've taken advantage of the hammock in the sun room.

I don't know if I could ask for a better location either. Within a five - ten minute walk, there was an abundance of restaurant, shops, and bars. I felt like I was in the middle of Montreal and nothing was out of our way.

As someone who likes to experience the local culture when traveling, I don't know if I could have asked for a better trip. The peace of mind due to staying at a quality place in a great location with a great host was definitely a huge factor in our great trip.

  • Our stay with Natalie was perfect! Her home is absolutely lovely, extremely clean, and comes with a friendly cat named Corky. The location was excellent, and close to everything you could possibly need. There was construction next door but we couldn't hear a single peep. Natalie is such a great girl! Wonderful to talk to, super friendly and helpful. We can't wait to stay here again!

I am from Ottawa and I've lived in beautiful Montreal for 5 years. I love nature, animals, the arts, travel and adventure. I work at a neurological facility and participate in theatre productions in my spare time. I'd like to think I'm both private and social in a good balance. I enjoy connecting and I also enjoy time to myself. I truly love being an airbnb host! Happy traveling, everyone!
