Univ City Room near 45th & Baltimor

Apartment - Private room · South 45th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, United States

The Space

This space is great for students and visitors to Philly, conveniently located 1.5 blocks from the 34 trolley which gets you to Center City in 12 mins and main campus in 5 (it's also a quick 10min walk), and 8 blocks from the mainline train which brings you up and down Market St. (a 10 min walk). Since I travel a ton for work, you would have many weekday nights to yourself and potentially weekends with access to the entire apartment, Cable TV, wireless internet, and kitchen if you need it. You can have access to mostly anything outside of my bedroom even if I am there. There is a coffee shop a half-a block away, Ethiopian restaurants in one direction and Vegan raw food restaurant in another. It sits a stone throw away from Baltimore Avenue that is lined with great places to eat and a few shops. It is a ground level apartment with a private entrance and private access to shared laundry facilities.

My place is unique because it's cozy, convenient and spacious. I am a minimalist when it comes to furniture outside of bedroom, so lots of living room space for dancing and exercise.

I would love to welcome you to my home whether its virtually or in person!

Check In
  • Natalie and Kwame were wonderful hosts! Their home is comfortable and exactly as pictured, in a quiet and charming neighborhood. Being in such close proximity to public transportation and amazing restaurants was great! Natalie also offered to drive me into the city if the SEPTA workers had gone on strike, which was very sweet.

  • Natalie and Kwame were very kind and helpful during my stay in Philly. Great communication, with good information about local amenities. Their apartment was well located, near the SEPTA and trolley lines in West Philadelphia and close to Clark Park. The room was nice, private, and the air mattress was comfortable. Natalie was also kind enough to give me a lift downtown for an appointment I had. If I needed accommodations again in Philly, I would definitely let them know!

  • Absolutely a great place to stay. My first time using airbnb and could not have asked for a better place for the experience. Natalie and Kwame were very hospitable and sociable; they made sure I had everything that I needed. First-rate people. My room was clean and wonderfully set up, with desk space and my own printer to print my boarding pass. The location is within walking distance to Penn (roughly 20 minutes) and accessible to both the trolley line and subway line if you're heading East towards Center City. Lots of great restaurant choices nearby that are affordable. If you're in town for a trip, look no further for a place to stay.

  • Natalie & Kwame are a charming couple, really caring and pleasant. They went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and treated me as a friend of theirs. The house is nice and walking distance to Upenn and University City amenities.

  • I have stayed with Natalie and Kwame several times, and every time it is a great experience. The room is very cozy, with a heater in case you get cold during the night. The whole apartment is very clean and neat. There are many stores and places to eat not far from the apartment. The area is safe and nice. Close to subways and buses. Great place!

  • I had a good time staying with Natalie and Kwame. Their place is accessible to public transportation, comfortable, and clean. Neither of us were their most of the time but when we interacted they were nice and helpful. Natalie looked up some directions for taking the bus around for me. I would stay with them if I ever come to Philly again.

  • Again, I had a great time staying with Natalie and Kwame. They are amazing hosts and I love their place!

Health Care Consultant & Math Teacher
Natalie loves travel, adventure, music and fitness. The living room has a box of workout gear because she's working towards optimal health in eating, exercise, and emotional/spiritual well-being. She loves to meet new people, and have a wide appreciation for the arts. She grew up playing piano, violin and singing, but now she only sings in the shower on occasion (not too loud though, no worries). An interesting fact: She lived in a mud hut in Zambia for two years and in Lusaka the capital for one year while serving in the Peace Corps. She has pictures hanging around the house that reflect some of the great relationships she built while there. Kwame is a teacher within the Philadelphia School District and has been teaching for three years. He currently teaches 6th Grade Math & Science. He is a big karaoke fan, hence the Karaoke machine in the living room (which you might have an opportunity to try out during your visit). He loves sports; the Red Sox is his favorite baseball team. He enjoys jogging around the neighborhood for a good workout. An interesting fact: He lived in Ghana for 3 years where he attended school before returning to the US for high school and college. Together, they are a blast to be around, fun-loving and welcoming.
