About this listing
Dogs and humans welcome!
"The Dog House" is a charming cottage in the Old North End within walking distance to Colorado College, city parks, trails, neighborhood coffee shops, grocery stores, and just 1 mile to downtown. Watch the sun set behind Pikes Peak while enjoying the fire pit, enjoy a home cooked meal on the patio, or ask friends over for a BBQ. OF COURSE DOGS ARE WELCOME in the fully fenced dog friendly yard.
The one bedroom, one bathroom cottage is best described as "old meets new." It is fully furnished with Italian leather furniture, cowhide rug, Samsung LCD TV w/ Apple TV & DVD player, comfortable queen size bed, and primitive furniture that came out West in wagons. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, even spices and basic necessities that previous guests have donated to the collection.
Take a soak in the claw foot tub, or relax under the rain shower. Cook with the modern gas stove, and don't worry about dishes, just leave them in the dishwasher to be done on your departure. Sleep in West Elm bedding ~ super cozy sheets, down pillows, and comforter. If you stay two nights or for the week or longer, you will be looking forward to your next visit to Colorado Springs.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STAY 1 NIGHT, PLEASE CONTACT ME...IF POSSIBLE, I WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.
A view of Pikes Peak greets you every morning from bed when you look out the window.

I'll arrange access and touch base via text or mobile.

Other Things to Note
I will share my fresh eggs from my hens in the garden as well as produce I pick (in summer and fall). I always stock coffee, tea, spices, and some basics to cook because there is nothing worse than having to buy a whole bottle of something when you only use a teaspoon. My only ask is if you use it all up, leave something you didn't need the whole bottle of so we keep the collection going for everyone.
To keep costs to a minimum, please turn off the lights/AC when not in use and close the blinds and windows when your out in the summer to keep the house cool. The porch light is an energy saver intended to be left on in the evenings for your convenience.
Please pick up after your dog's business...daily bags are provided for your convenience.
Please keep dogs off the furniture and the bed.
Do not leave dogs in house alone, dogs may only be left outside in yard if you leave property...but no more than 2 hours at a time.
This cottage was build in 1901, the sewage is sensitive, please be mindful of what goes down the drain and in the toilet...to include not flushing feminine hygiene products.
The dishwasher is portable, I can show you how to hook up or let me do the dishes after you leave.
Lovely place! Good neighborhood, centrally located, clean and comfortable. Thanks!
We loved our stay at the Dog House. Cayce made it easy for us to feel right at home in her charming cottage. The neighborhood is fantastic. Very walkable and safe.
Cayce's cottage was perfect for our 10-day stay in Colorado Springs. The cottage was beautifully furnished and fully equipped, just the right size for the two of us! We loved it inside and out and would stay here again. Cayce was a welcoming host who made sure we had everything we needed and the fresh eggs were a delicious bonus!
the whole stay was great , the neighborhood very nice and so were the people I met . Cayce was also great to for sights to see and directions!
My wife and I loved staying at "The Dog House." We only stayed one night but it was very comfortable and in nice part of town very close to downtown. Cayce was super helpful and spent a half hour or so helping us find places to eat and local brew pubs.
We had an enjoyable stay at The Dog House. It's pleasant and in a good location. Restaurants and attractions were a short drive away. Cayce's instructions were clear and understandable. The bed was a highlight of the home because it is very comfortable. We wish all the beds on our trip were so nice.
We had a really nice time here the place is perfect size for 2 people and nicely furnished. I liked the farmhouse sink and the front door.
