The Space

"The Dog House" is a charming cottage in the Old North End within walking distance to Colorado College, city parks, trails, neighborhood coffee shops, grocery store and 1 mile to downtown. Watch the sun set behind pikes peak while enjoying the fire pit, enjoy a home cooked meal on the patio or ask friends over for a BBQ. OF COURSE DOGS ARE WELCOME HERE in the fully fenced dog friendly yard.

The one bedroom, one bathroom cottage is best described as, old meets new. It is fully furnished with Italian leather furniture, cowhide rug, samsung flatscreen, ipod/iphone charger, comfortable queen size bed and primitive furniture that came out west in a wagon. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, even spices and basic necessities that past guests have donated to the collection.

Take a soak in the claw foot tub, or relax under the rain shower shower head. Cook with the modern gas stove, don't worry about dishes just leave them in the dishwasher to be done on your departure. Sleep in West Elm bedding, super cozy sheets, down pillows and comforters. Stay two nights or stay for the week you will be looking forward to your next visit to Colorado Springs.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STAY 1 NIGHT PLEASE CONTACT ME IF POSSIBLE I WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.

A view of Pikes Peak greets you every morning from bed when you look out the window.

Let me know if you need anything from the store before you arrive so you don't waste vacation time shopping.

Guest Access

A fenced yard for pets to play.
If you stay more than 7 days access to washer and dryer in cottage.

Interaction with Guests

I try to greet each guest upon arrival. If it is not an option because of schedule conflicts,
i'll arrange access and touch base via text or call.

The Neighborhood

The close proximity to Colorado College, Shooks Run Trail, memorial park (free yoga Saturdays), DogTooth Cafe and walking distance to downtown. You don't even need a car!

Other Things to Note

I will share my fresh eggs from my hens in the garden as well as produce I pick (in summer and fall). I always stock coffee, tea, spices and some basics to cook because there is nothing worse than having to buy a whole bottle of something when you only use a teaspoon. My only ask is if you use it all up, leave something you didn't need the whole bottle of so we keep the collection going for everyone.

  • We just stayed at "The Dog House" this last weekend and loved it! It is so cute and well furnished. The bed is super comfy and the cottage is well stocked with all of the essentials. We were met by Cayce when we arrived. She was very friendly and had great suggestions for things to see and places to eat while in the area, in fact, she even text us a few suggestions after we were out for the night. The location is perfect, just a mile or so north of downtown Colorado Springs which has tons of great restaurants. I would highly recommend this rental!

  • The cottage is cozy with a well-equipped kitchen. Casey has done a really nice job of creating the 1901 feel of the original cottage. It's conveniently located to Colorado College and downtown--walking distance.

  • The Dog House is a wonderful, homey place to stay when in Colorado Springs. This was my second stay and I definitely will stay there again when I am in town. It is located in the "Historic North End" of Colorado Springs and is within walking distance to Colorado College. On-street parking is very convenient if you drive. And the bed is more comfortable than mine at home. Cayce is a very gracious host and had some great recommendations for restaurants in the area. I only regret that I did not get to try the fresh eggs that Cayce delivered from the chickens she raises in the back yard. Consider the Dog House if you are staying in Colorado Springs.

  • Cayce's cottage is everything you could ask for in a get-away. The house is beautiful and charming. Gorgeous decor and cozy amenities. The kitchen is stocked with a lot of basics to help make your stay more comfortable. The location is great, especially if you have a car. About 10 minutes to Garden of the Gods, 15 to Manitou Springs. The neighborhood is safe and lovely. I highly recommend Cayce's home!

  • My sister and I had a wonderful stay in the Springs at "The Dog House". The cottage was clean and beautiful, and located in a beautiful and logistically convenient location. Cayce was a lovely host and made herself very available for anything we needed. This is a gem of a deal and property!

  • It was a lovely little cottage to stay in. The bed was very comfortable and the entire home was welcoming. I'm definitely going back for another stay!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this home-away-from-home! Cayce is a welcoming innkeeper and I loved her little cottage. This is a great location, just a couple of blocks from Colorado College. Her dogs are adorable and very friendly once introduced, otherwise they do bark when anyone is on the path from the sidewalk to the cottage (making this NYer feel safe.) Cayce gave us fresh eggs from her chickens! A first for me... and yum. Having a full kitchen in this small house was such a great departure from staying at the Hilton. This B&B even has great water pressure in the shower. I hope to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • The Dog House is a sweet
Cottage and private hideaway. Cayce made sure all was ok and even delivered yummy fresh eggs for breakfast. I'd stay there again in a minute!

  • Stop looking, stay here!

This place is awesome and Cayce is an amazing host. Minutes to down town, super safe area, close to cafe and other great little spots. Loved it so much we will use this for corporate housing when I have clients in town.

Loved it, was the perfect base for our move from Oz to USA! And whilst the dogs may bark, they are harmless and love a treat!!

  • Cayce was a wonderful host. She was easy and quick to communicate with and sweet all around. The house was adorable, comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. It is in a great location close to the Colorado College campus, the river trail, cafes, and grocery stores. Parking is a breeze. I will return.
