Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this beautiful lakefront home hidden away on Wellesley Island in Lake of the Isles. The timber frame cabin is affectionately named “The Dream” because it is exactly that! Experience the magic of St. Lawrence River life. Enjoy watching beautiful sunsets from the stunning porch with lakefront views. Relax with a good book, coffee, games, or water activities. The property offers everything you need for a memorable getaway with family or friends!

The space
Pack your bags and get ready for a gorgeous and serene getaway! As you cross over the Thousand Islands Bridge from the mainland onto Wellesley Island, you will feel like you have entered a different world. Lake of the Isles is in the middle of Wellesley Island with two points where it opens up to the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands region. This lake is a gem in that it is quieter and warmer than the St. Lawrence River.

When we first found the property in 2019, it truly was a blank slate as a fully wooded lot hidden at the end of a quiet road. The house you see in the pictures is a labor of love – built by us and our children, along with the help of family and friends. The timber frame construction will awe you no matter where you sit inside or outside. Being surrounded by the woods, rock cliffs, and the water does wonders for the soul.

- Kayaks available for exploring the Lake of the Isles
- Fishing off the dock and from the kayaks
- Boat dockage available for rent across the lake at DeWolf State Park (three miles away by car)
- 15 minutes from Alexandria Bay, Clayton, and Boldt Castle – all well-known tourist destinations in the St. Lawrence River
- Close to many restaurants, stores, wineries, golf courses, and recreational activities in the Thousand Islands region
- 1.5 miles from the Wellesley Island Market – gas and convenience store offering breakfast and deli sandwiches, pizza, and ice cream, along with a liquor store.
- 3 miles away from the United States-Canada border

Wellesley Island is one of the largest islands in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River. There are two New York State Parks on the island alone - Wellesley Island State Park and DeWolf Point State Park. The island also boasts several golf courses, restaurants, and historical points of interest such as Thousand Island Park and Boldt Yacht House.

In 20 minutes or less, you can be sightseeing in Alexandria Bay, Clayton, Boldt Castle, or even over the border in Canada.

Matt and I have three teenagers and two dogs. We are both teachers. As a family, we have always loved the outdoors - camping, skiing, sports, swimming, and so forth. When we are not busy with our children's sports, we spend as much time as we can at the Dream in the Thousand Islands enjoying the "River Life."
