Hi fellow travelers,
I'm an artist living and working in historic, gorgeous and super friendly New Orleans. While you are here I'll usually be available 24 hours a day to assist you should you need it.

The space

My space is a typical old school New Orleans, two bedroom shotgun apartment.
For a better idea of what that is, click here.
(URL HIDDEN)

One bedroom has a standard queen size bed, the other is my art studio and accommodates a very comfortable, extra thick inflatable queen size mattress for additional guests. In addition I have two very comfy couches that I myself nap on often. If you have two or more people and want or need the inflatable mattress and or couches set up I will need to be made aware of that in order to have it set up for you.

The apartment is clean, full of natural light and a very warm inviting space to spend your time in New Orleans. It's chock full of paintings and sculptures and set up to be a very relaxing environment, a perfect place to retreat to after a day full of New Orleans experiences.
There's one TV with appleTV, wifi, a computer work area, a small but great kitchen and a grill just outside the back door.

The neighborhood is safe and mostly families so it's pretty quiet in the evenings.

It's located in historic Holy Cross neighborhood just three blocks from the mighty Mississippi river. Fifteen minutes from the French Quarter, Marigny, and Bywater so you're just moments away from great food, music and tons of cool places to check out. It's close to public transportation should you choose to use it and not far from I-10 and 610.

The grocery store is ten minutes away.

Guest access

You will have access to all parts of the house and use of TV, stereo, grill, all kitchen and dining tools and utensils. You will need to supply your own food and alcohol.

Was a very nice stay, not far from all the attractions.

Response from Scott:
Hmmm, that's odd and unfortunate as I don't own a cat. I did just adopt a puppy, perhaps it was that. I'll be sure to make an effort that doesn't happen again. I hope that it didn't spoil her time and thank you for letting me know.

Scott was so easy to communicate with before and during our stay. He fielded a lot of my crazy questions :) The neighborhood was charming and within a reasonable drive to downtown/the french quarter. We loved that it was off the beaten path. We've stayed downtown a bunch, but we really wanted a place that felt a little more homey. Scott's place definitely did not disappoint. The bed was SO comfortable. I slept very well in his wide open space. His beautiful artwork was a treat to observe throughout our stay. And His kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. I also appreciated the suggested list of restaurants. With our full/busy schedule throughout our trip, we were able to visit two of them. Mmm PoBoys! Thanks for a great stay, Scott!

Scott was very accessible and thorough. He immediately made us feel at home with his handy papers he provided with suggestions of food and activities around the area. His house was very clean and adorable. Even the extra air mattress he provided us was comfortable. Scott was very accommodating to our needs and we will definitely be interested in staying with him on our next visit! Highly recommend!

A clean shotgun shack classic New Orleans house with plenty of room and a good kitchen and grill. It is a very authentic neighbourhood and part of the Lower Ninth Ward that was so badly affected by Hurricane Katrina. This makes for a fascinating stay if you are interested in that. The house is well equipped. Some things to know - you will have to drive/taxi/Uber/Lyft for groceries as there really isn't anything nearby. The neighbourhood is very quiet and - like most of the city - you will warned by many people not to wander around after dark. The house itself - because of the style - has the bathroom in the back of the house. This only important because if you have people sleeping in both rooms with beds, the bedroom closest to the back becomes a hallway. Minor detail in my books, but worth knowing. Overall, everything was great. Nice air conditioning, well-equipped kitchen, lots of sunlight, beautiful variety of the owner's art displayed and comfortable beds.

My daughter and I enjoyed staying at Scott's house while visiting New Orleans in the Mardi Gras. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood. We had a car with a lot of parking space next to the house. We drove everywhere with the car including the visiting places (cheap parking fees). The house is well equipped - we ate sometimes at the house - excellent air condition. A few minutes riding to the supermarket. To wrap up, I would recommend Scott's house. Jacob.

Response from Scott:
Thank you Jacob, it was a pleasure to host you both and you're welcome back anytime. My apologies for whatever you found in the kitchen that you felt could be cleaner, I'll be sure to make it sparkle next time. As for check-in arrangements, I feel I was very clear, open and easy to contact. I understand you had issues with getting a Sim card for your phone, as I've never had to do that I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
