This is one of the apartments in Villa Lola, located in Vaðlaheiði near Akureyri, the capital of north Iceland.
The villa is located in the exclusive residence area of Akureyri. This location offers you a quiet atmosfair and a touch of the nature. You will have a view over the bay and Akureyri . In the winter time you can enjoy the aurora borealis and in the summer time the midnight sun.
Akureyri is just 10 min. drive. In Akureyri you have all kinds of shops, restaurantsand many cafés, different galleries and there are lots of professional music concerts as well all summer music festival.
This appartment is the biggest of the three appartments in the house. There is a living area, with kitchen one bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, then there is a loft where there is a double bed. Towels and bedlinen are inclunded in the price. We offer a extra bed and baby bed on request.

In winter, ski or do cross-country skiing in the best ski resort with view of the fjord, amazing! Or dog sledging with our huskies and snowshoewalks or fishing troght ice.
And then it is very popular to drive the road skirting the beautiful western shore of the Eyjafjordur Fjord, visit the magnificent waterfalls, Goðafoss and Dettifoss, Dimmuborgir, Mývatn, the Grand Canyon of Jökulsárgljúfur and whale watching in Húsavík. It is also possible to take an organized day trip from Akureyri to the island of Grimsey, which straddles the Arctic Circle.
It is easy to get to Akureyri!
Icelandair is offering flights to Akureyri. So it is as well just a 45 Min. flight from Reykjavik downtown to Akureyri. It is only a 7km drive from the airport to our house. If you are driving, Akureyri is on the ringroad and is a approx. 5 to 6 hours drive from Reykjavik. To stay in vaðlaheiði you need a car.
The property offers a quiet position and a great view.
It is a easy access to the center of Akureyri and the beautiful places in its surroundings.
A beautiful home, in a great location across the water from Akureyri. I loved the loft bed, the great shower, and the views from the dining room. Lovely place!
The place was lovely to stay at. Unfortunately, the wifi somehow disconnected while we were there but we had a beautiful view to keep as entertained. The owners were contactable and they tried to fix it. Lovely location. Just make sure you use a 4WD if you want to stay there when it is snowing. The driveway is very difficult to navigate when it snows. Great place, will definitely stay again.
jorunnn's place was totally beautiful.set across from akureyri, we were afforded beautiful views of the city and surrounds. her place was very clean and peaceful, and I would recommend it to everyone. thanks, jorunn!
A wonderful place to stay. The apartment is very comfortable and very quiet, a short distance outside town, and has amazing views over the fjord, and the mountains beyond.
Jórunn's place is indeed quite special. It's located on the hills where you can see Akureyri from the top, a beautiful view during the day and also the night.
The entire property as seen on the pictures (and as described by Jórunn) has 3 apartments. I stayed on the biggest one, and despite the proximity between them it didn't affect our privacy. Akureyri is a lovely city that I can totally recommend anyone visiting Iceland to go! It reminded me of Switzerland but in the middle of a fjord :-) From there, you can reach Myvatn and the geothermal pool in the area that's much less touristic than the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavik.
I haven't met Jórunn in person but her daughter came over to give us the keys and show us how everything worked. Besides a few practical details (easy fixes that I have shared with Jórunn) the place is really beautiful and in the perfect location for some relaxing days and nights.
Jolie maison confortable et propre avec une vue magnifique sur AKUREYRI. La promiscuité des deux autres appartements n'est pas gênante.
Nous y avons passé un agréable séjour.
The location of the house is really good to visit the north of Iceland. The house offers beautiful view and is very well decorated with design furnitures but a washing machine is missing..
We stayed for a couple of days in Jorunn's charming house ioutside Akureyri. It was clean, very tastefully decorated and very well stocked - we had everything we needed, from tea and coffee, my favorite muesli cereal, olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the kitchen, very interesting books to read, games, videos, iMac and wifi! Amazing views from the deck and perfect place to just relax and watch the fjord! Plenty of parking for the car. Jorunn was a gracious host and was very kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again! :)
This apartment is beautifully designed and furnished. And the view over Akureyri spectacular. Jorunn was an excellent host and responded to all of our questions promptly. We stayed 3 nights. Wished it could have been longer.
