Interaction with Guests

There (email hidden)-in super on the 2nd floor who is available during your stay. There is also Corine, my apartment manager, who will be coordinating your arrival and will help you through the apartment and get the lay of the neighbourhood. I am usually out of the city when I rent the apartment but I am always available via cell and email.

The Neighborhood

Landmark building located in Vinegar Hill just east of DUMBO. Vinegar Hill / DUMBO is an old warehouse district which has become home to artists, designers, entrepreneurs and likeminded creatives ~ it's at the foot of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges; a beautiful neighborhood with old Belgium cobblestone streets; walk to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and water piers and take in all the beautiful architecture, spectacular views of the East river and city and vibrant art scene. Vinegar Hill has a peaceful remote village feeling but you're only minutes away from the city!

Getting around

Subway (York St, F-Train) to Manhattan is 1.5 blocks from apartment and is first stop in Brooklyn from Manhattan.

From LaGuardia:
Taxi ~$35
Take a NYC yellow taxi. There will be a taxi line that you have to go stand in when you arrive. The guy managing the line will ask you where you are going. Say Downtown Brooklyn. When you get into the cab tell the driver you are going to “DUMBO”. He may know it, he may not. If he doesn’t tell him it is underneath the Manhattan Bridge and he can get there by taking the BQE (Brooklyn Queens expressway) to the Tillary St exit (#29). When you get onto Tillary you want to take your immediate right onto Gold St. Go 4 blocks on Gold. Take a left on York. Take first right onto Bridge. Take first right onto Front St. and pull over to the right side of the street immediately.

Other Things to Note

Street Parking is usually available. Please be mindful of the street cleaning schedule of the parking in front of the building.

  • This place is excellent! I came with two friends, who both adored the apartment. The wall art is really fun. It's only a few minutes from Manhattan, with easy subway access, and the neighborhood is really cool. Patricia was very hospitable and helpful, easy to reach whenever we needed her. She even suggested some great dining spots. We loved it and highly recommend her as a host!

  • We were 4 people staying with Patricia and all of us had an amazing time. The appartment is located perfectly on Brookly, just 2 minutes away from a fantastic view on New York's skyline. The neighbourhood is really nice, as there are a lot of really good places to go and eat. Patricia was perfect host and flexible to our arrival time which changed several times. She provided us with all necessary information about the nearest metro station, grocery shops etc.

In a nutshell, it was really great staying with Patricia and we would not hesitate going there again for our next NY trip.

  • This apartment turned out to be a great idea for us. It's a nice neighborhood with plenty of stores, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. The subway's F train is very close by and the waterfront park is awesome. Initially, on our arrival night, there was a malfunctioning thermostat and was very cold weather, but the manager Corine and the superintendent worked diligently to get everything working just fine right away. She was very attentive to our needs and checked in with us often to make sure things were going fine. We stayed for a week and it felt like home. Comfy furniture and beds. We had no idea that this little neighborhood was such a gem, and we felt very safe walking at night. Perfect location and great amenities. Thanks Patricia and Corine for top notch service.

I am an ex-pat Canadian. It took me a minute to get adjusted to big city life but I now feel at home in the hustle of the city. I am an avid runner, swimmer and biker and Vinegar Hill / DUMBO is a beautiful neighbourhood that affords great public spaces to be outside. I love the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park and the lovely Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
