The apartment was as represented. It was ready upon our arrival, the house keeper was awaiting us, clean, air conditioning worked, wifi worked. The location was fabulous. Grocery store two blocks away, a block to Piazza Navona (we went to walk around every evening), there was a small shop selling cheeses/meats/prepared "deli" salads/wines/specialty food stuffs only 20 yards from the door. Countless restaurants nearby. The restaurant downstairs was indeed noisy late at night, so bring ear plugs. We got used to it after a couple nights; it didn't seem to bother my kids. Kitchen is not really equipped to cook anything serious. (For example: No spatula, although I bought one and left it there. No cleaning towel/cloth that I could find.)
The host responded immediately or within 2-3 hours to each of my contacts. She booked a private driver to the airport at my request (I recommend this; it cost only $2 more than a cab would have and came closer to the door than walking over to the cab stand at the north end of Piazza Navona with luggage). There was an ant problem the first two days; when I mentioned it to her, she offered to send someone to take care of it before I requested it (and they did take care of it).
I felt safe in the unit, and the benefit of the restaurant right next to the entrance door was that I always felt safe entering the building when I returned to the apartment at night.
I would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever returned to Rome.
This place is very small yet very clean and pleasant and in a great neighborhood
My Wife and I spent two nights at Margherita's Flat in Rome. A good size space for two people in an excellent location. The Flat is a short taxi ride from the Train Station and walking distance to all of the top attractions. The Neighborhood is in a relaxed and quaint area and the flat is on a side street, with a small grocery near by for snacks. There is also a restaurant right below the Flat, but it was not open when we were there. The Flat was clean as well as the linens provided. The shower area is a little small if you are a tall person, but has a sitting area you can relax on while in the shower. Kitchen had all required appliances and all worked properly. We were in Rome during July and it was very hot. There is an AC in the Flat, but we still felt the Italian Summer Heat at night. Communication was very good with Margherita. I would recommend the Flat, especially for the location to explore all of Rome!
The stay at Margherita's place was a mix of good and not so great. GOOD: The space was in a very good location near Piazza Navona, down a relatively quiet, tucked-away street. While her directions were good and she states it is easy to find, I think this might be more true for a Roman or someone familiar with the area, but all in all, not too tough to find. The main room and kitchen had bright, modern furnishings. The windows were nice and the wood blackouts were great for being able to sleep in absolute darkness. The wireless worked flawlessly. We were grateful for an air conditioner, a relatively new development in Italian accommodations since my last visit in 2010 - this also helped drown out street noise at night. It was only a one-floor walk-up, which made hauling luggage not too difficult. The building was well-defended and we felt quite secure. It was nice to have a place to hang out some laundry pieces on the line. Margherita was helpful in offering assistance negotiating transportation to/from the airport. NOT GREAT: As we found in many Italian accommodations, communication around with Margherita around arrival proved somewhat difficult. First, I'd asked her a question weeks earlier via Airbnb and only heard back after a second communication confirming our arrival. Not a big deal, but a bit irritating. Second, I'd communicated a time we expected to arrive a few days in advance, but heard nothing from her. Unfortunately, due to several travel difficulties, we were delayed three hours. Despite text messages informing her of our delay, she apparently had someone waiting to let us in at the original time. While I apologized for the confusion, she instructed me that I "should generously tip" the person letting us in due to waiting for us several hours earlier. I found this offensive: I'd worked to inform Margherita of our delay and I had no idea someone would be waiting for us. I am also not used to having my Airbnb host tell me what to do - particularly with my money. Despite the positives, many aspects of the apartment were shabby. The bed and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bright colored bed cover that is in the picture is nowhere to be found - there is one thin blanket and one very heavy comforter. The bathroom is awful - tiles falling off in the shower, terrible water pressure, silly full-length mirror in the shower, and a toilet that runs for ten minutes. I could take a long shower and still be done before the toilet was done with a cycle. There is a tiny window in the shower that is completely rusted and will not shut. The kitchen doesn't have basic tools for cooking. For example, there are nonstick pans (residual food in them from previous users), but only metal and wooden utensils for cooking, no plastic. There was no spatula. There is wood trim falling off the walls between the kitchen...
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and in a central location close to all the major sights. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Le logement est très très bien situé
il est conforme au photographies
l'hôte était parfait
Rien a dire!
Emplacement parfait au cœur de la ville, cependant studio très mal isolé et donc vraiment très bruyant.
Équipement correcte mais minimal.
