Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Welcome to the Mansion Suite, a newly renovated historic gem in the heart of Center Square. Through a private entrance, down a long foyer, you'll discover the grand Oak Room, an expansive living/dining room with dramatic fireplace mantel, paneling, beamed ceiling, stained glass windows. Adjacent to the lounge, is a stylish and fully equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. Both bedrooms have new queen beds, beautiful natural woodwork and overlook a private and quiet courtyard.

The space
The apartment is located on the first floor of an historic 1892 townhouse. The building was designed by Alexander Selkirk, one of Albany's most noteworthy architects. The apartment is newly renovated, featuring an elegant mix of vintage and new furniture with original artwork. The grand Oak Room is the heart of the apartment with lots of space to lounge, dine and enjoy the historic ambience of the gilded age. Right off the main living space is the original butler's pantry, now a stylish and spacious kitchen. The cute bathroom features an extra large shower with glass doors. Enjoy the vintage fireplace mantel and large bay window in the master bedroom. The second bedroom features beautiful oak paneling and a courtyard view.

Located in a quiet corner of Center Square, between two historic churches, the Mansion Suite is steps from the New York State Capitol and Empire State Plaza. You'll find many interesting restaurants and bars a few blocks away on Lark Street. Be sure to check out Dove a Deer for cocktails/appetizers and Rosanna's Italian Restaurant, both one block from the apartment. Many more restaurants and bars are located nearby on Lark Street. The New York State Museum, Empire State Plaza, Albany Institute of History and Art, The Egg Performing Arts Center, MVP Arena, Albany Capital Center and New York State Capitol are all within walking distance. The University at Albany, College of Saint Rose, Albany Medical Center, Albany Law School and Saint Peter's Hospital are all a short drive or bus ride away.

Guest access
The stained glass door in the living room leads into the David Hinchen Gallery. Feel free to enjoy the first floor reception room/art gallery. The gallery features local architectural paintings.

Free laundry facilities are located in the basement (access out the stained glass door, take a right, then a second right to basement staircase).

Please note that there are other residents in the building. We ask that after 10:00 pm, please keep noise and loud talking to a neighborly level so other tenants are not disturbed. No pets are allowed in the apartment. No parties at all. No smoking of any kind is allowed in the building, please go outside. Thanks for your understanding.

Other things to note
Street parking is fairly easy if you circle around the block. There's a weekday two hour limit from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm but unrestricted from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am. The entire neighborhood is completely unrestricted on weekends. Be sure to move your car for street cleaning (alternative sides on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00-12:00, be sure to check the signs out in front). There's metered parking a block down on State Street (by NYS Capitol) and all along Washington Avenue. Parking is easy in Washington Park (four blocks away), but there's a 90 minute limit on weekdays between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm (free after 6:00 pm and on weekends). Free parking without the two hour limit is available on Washington Avenue (above Henry Johnson Boulevard) and Western Avenue (above Sprague Place).

There are other residents who live in the building. We ask that after 10:00 pm, please keep noise and loud talking to a neighborly level so other tenants are not disturbed (and vice versa). No pets please. No parties of any kind. Thank you for your understanding :)
