The Space

Cosy double bedroom in our family home in a quiet cul-de-sac. Accommodates two people comfortably. The bedroom is bright and spacious with hand-basin, wardrobes, study desk. Your own private bathroom is opposite the bedroom.- see photo. Bed linen and Towels are provided. The Kitchen/Dining Room looks onto the garden with patio. Relax in our living room which has a turf stove for chilly evenings! We also have oil fired central heating.

The Knocknacarra area has all that one would require at it's doorstep. It is serviced by excellent roads, a very efficient bus network system, there is a Bus every 15 minutes to the city centre. The bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the house. It is just a 5Km drive to Galway City and approx 3Km drive to the famous Salthill Promenade.

We are on the West side of the City which is an Ideal location, for discovering Connemara with it's lovely landscapes. Explore the beautiful scenery of the West Coast of Ireland including the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Bunratty Castle.

Galway is one of the most chilled out spots in Western Europe. Despite being a city, it feels like a big town with its easy attitude and cool bohemian vibe. Known as the City of the Tribes, after the 14 affluent tribes who ruled during the middle ages, this thriving city is the most westerly in Europe and enjoys a strong artistic heritage and a flourishing arts, music, theatre and film scene. Summer in Galway is a never-ending stream of excellent festivals, with eating, drinking and entertainment all taking place outdoors in the balmy air of this warm-hearted city. Enjoy the atmospheric pubs in this West of Ireland city with its beautiful location at the edge of Galway Bay, its pretty medieval streets and its lively weekend markets for a city break you’ll never forget.

  • Geraldine is the biggest sweetheart! From the moment she picked us up we felt welcome! Not only did she provide breakfast to get our day started, she was also awesome about helping figure out bus schedules, places to eat, and anything else that came up. My husband and I felt like family, and not just guests.

  • Geraldine made us feel at home straight away with a cuppa & a chat. We arrived well ahead of time, but were received without fuss or hesitation. Our room was lovely & we had plenty of breakfast options. Geraldine provided lots of tips for places to visit in Galway & the surrounding area. We had become very comfortable at Geraldine's & were sorry to be leaving after only 2 days. We found it a bit tricky locating the house - in a quiet residential area - by car, initially. It was then convenient to use the city bus service (bus stop nearby) for getting around town. Overall, a very enjoyable stay at Geraldine's.

  • Me and my friend Ira had a wonderful time staying with Geraldine. She is an excellent host and a really lovely and attentive person as well. At our arrival Geraldine hearty welcomed us with a nice cup of tea and home made scones.

Beside the interesting conversations with Geraldine and Pat, they also had good advises and tips for us what's unmissable and worthwhile in Galway's surrounding area.

Our room and shared bathroom were very clean and comfortable. For breakfast we had a plenty of choice and everything was delicious and invigorating. We were also allowed to use the kitchen and living room on our own to relax and feel at home.

We couldn't have wished for a better accommodation in Galway! Thank you, Geraldine, for making our stay perfect! :-)

  • Unfortunately we only spent two days in Galway with Geraldine! Geraldine is a unique person, hospitable, friendly and polite, a perfect host. On our arrival at home she gaves us a cup of tea and we immediately felt at home. We have had many opportunities to talk and we passed with her some excellent moments. The house is clean and welcoming. If we ever go back to Galway we definitely would come back to Geraldine!

  • Geraldine is the most kind and gracious host, and perhaps one of the most sincere people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I could not have asked for a better experience during my stay in Galway. Ger and Pat were very forthcoming with suggestions and expertise about the area and Ireland in general. The room was perfect, and the location is ideal. I hope to stay with them again very soon!

Hi my name is Geraldine and I'm from Ireland. I love travelling and learning new languages and about new cultures. I have been all over Europe and also to Chile in South America, which I loved. I like all types of sport especially golf, which I play. There are great golf clubs nearby that I can give you information on. It is also a musical household, my son David plays several instruments and is involved in a local band. My children are grown up now so I have a couple of spare rooms in my house and thought I'd give Airbnb a go because I've heard great things about it. I hosted foreign students for years and really enjoyed the experience. Our household is happy, friendly and easy going. I would be delighted to have you stay with me and my family and to give you travel info about Galway and Ireland.
