  • Geraldine is a really nice and helpful person. She picked us up from the bus stop, than we had a great chat with a cup of tea.
She always prepared a big breakfast for us, and you could choose whatever you wanted.
She gave us ideas where to go and what to see.

I really recommend staying with her!

    Thank you for everything again!

Thank you Timi, you are welcome here anytime. Geraldine:)

  • Geraldine is the most kind and gracious host, and perhaps one of the most sincere people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I could not have asked for a better experience during my stay in Galway. Ger and Pat were very forthcoming with suggestions and expertise about the area and Ireland in general. The room was perfect, and the location is ideal. I hope to stay with them again very soon!

Thank you for the lovely review, Desiree. So glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to meet you. The weather has gone downhill since you left!!

  • Geraldine is a most charming and welcoming host. A cup of tea and home made scones after a long day's driving really makes you feel at home. Breakfast was great, bedroom clean and cosy. Great place to stay.

  • To start: The decision to stay the days between Christmas and New Years Eve with Geraldine in her home was the best I ever experienced. In spite of mostly bad weather during these days we felt completely warm in both meanings: the welcoming and hearty care, which let us feel like part of the family - and the cosy fireplace, which awaited us after a day with rain and storm.
To continue: The room and private bathroom were great and according to the description.
We had every morning a table prepared with lovely breakfast and all items we needed. We enjoyed the chats over a cup of tea including fresh scones, accompanied with "homemade" music, the lovely cat, the fantastic deadpan humor of Pat.
To end: I recommend this home entirely.

  • We were met with the warm Irish welcome we had hoped for.
Staying with Geraldine, Pat and David was like staying with long lost family. The room and private bathroom were great and we felt very much like we were at home.

Lovely breakfast and great chats over a cup of tea, including fresh scones. A real stand out host and experience.

Galway is gorgeous, we had great recommendations from our hosts and loved having a car to easily access the city and cruise around the cost.

    Highly recommended! !

  • Staying here was like staying with family! We could not recommend staying with Geraldine any higher.

Geraldine was a wonderful host. She and Pat stayed up late into the night to accommodate our check-in (our plane arrived pretty late). Then, the next morning they got up early to get us gluten-free food because the previous evening we mentioned a gluten allergy. They really went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

Geraldine was a pleasure to chat with. She was very friendly and welcoming and had lots of great suggestions about what to do around Galway. We also had a great time hanging out with Pat and Dave once we got home in the evening.

The house was beautiful, very clean and warm. The neighborhood was very safe and quiet. It was the perfect base for exploring western Ireland, including Cliffs of Moher. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend this place.

About
Hi my name is Geraldine and I'm from Ireland. I love travelling and learning new languages and about new cultures. I have been all over Europe and also to Chile in South America, which I loved. I like all types of sport especially golf, which I play. There are great golf clubs nearby that I can give you information on. It is also a musical household, my son David plays several instruments and is involved in a local band. My children are grown up now so I have a couple of spare rooms in my house and thought I'd give Airbnb a go because I've heard great things about it. I hosted foreign students for years and really enjoyed the experience. Our household is happy, friendly and easy going. I would be delighted to have you stay with me and my family and to give you travel info about Galway and Ireland.
