My husband and I stayed at Geraldine's place for 2 weeks while looking for an apartment in Galway, and it was absolutely the perfect place to stay. She made us feel at home, gave us full use of the kitchen including space to store our groceries, and helped us get adjusted to living in Galway. We were sad to leave because the room and whole house were so cozy, and Geraldine, Pat, and their little dog Benjy were such great company. Very convenient bus into Eyre Square, short walk to scenic Rusheen Bay, and about a 30 minute walk to the center of Salthill. We loved the area so much, we decided to find an apartment nearby. Thanks for a lovely stay Geraldine!

Geraldine is an awesome host. She was flexible with the breakfast time and make delicious bread. I have lower back pain, but the bed was very comfortable and did not cause any pain or stiffness. Geraldine's house a VERY conveniently located to the city buses and are very easy to use. I recommend getting the Leap bus cards so you don't have to worry about having correct change. Also within walking distance is an Aldi and other stores for groceries. Just down the road (again walking distance) is a restaurant The Sheridan. It was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Geraldine's house is close to transit and a 10 minute walk to Rusheen Bay. Lovely home. She had breakfast ready for us each morning, too, which was delicious.

The minute I arrived, Geraldine and Pat made me feel like I was an old friend back from an extended trip. It was a last minute booking and she was really accommodating. I arrived late in the evening and we stayed up just chatting, having cups of tea and talking about music while she made brown bread. :D The room is lovely - a little smaller than the wide angle picture shows, but you have plenty of storage, a sink in the room and a bathroom to yourself. The bed was really really comfortable - it's been a long time since I slept that well! I was on my bike for the weekend and it was fine to find with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, but there is a bus stop just across from the entrance to the estate for public transport folks. There's also access to really good wifi - the code is in your room on arrival and there are towels left out for you. It's a quiet estate, which was just perfect for what I needed. They also have a gorgeous little dog called Benji, as if you needed more reasons to stay here! :D Would definitely recommend. You have a great room and a host who loves meeting new people waiting for you!

House is located in a quiet residential area, 20 min on the bus from city centre (there's a stop right around the corner) or 1 hour walking—perhaps a bit more if you go via Salthill (which is what we did, weather was nice). Room and bathroom are in the second floor, look exactly like in the pictures, were super tidy and clean. Wifi is good. Geraldine is lovely and helpful. She helped us arrange our tour to the Cliffs of Moher, gave us recommendations of places to see, eat and drink in town, told us stories of her family and was interested in our stories. She cooked us delicious breakfast (even with vegetarian option) and offered us tea and bracken. Pat is a great guy, gave us a lift to the Tour Bus stop and taught us some Irish words. Benji is a very good boy.

Geraldine User ProfileGeraldine is a superhost.

Hi my name is Geraldine and I'm from Ireland. I love travelling and learning new languages and about new cultures. I have been all over Europe and also to Chile in South America, which I loved. I like all types of sport especially golf, which I play. There are great golf clubs nearby that I can give you information on. It is also a musical household, my son David plays several instruments and is involved in a local band. My children are grown up now so I have a couple of spare rooms in my house and thought I'd give Airbnb a go because I've heard great things about it. I hosted foreign students for years and really enjoyed the experience. Our household is happy, friendly and easy going. I would be delighted to have you stay with me and my family and to give you travel info about Galway and Ireland.
