Guests are welcome to enjoy everything our backyard has to offer. Play with the cats, give treats to the pig, throw the ball to the dogs, sing to the chickens, lounge in the hammock or adirondack chairs.
We LOVE to chat with our guests, but also understand when people are looking for a private retreat. We live in the main house and spend a lot of time on our back porch and in the yard. Come talk to us and visit whenever you want. Or ask our girls to sing for you, do a gymnastics routine, or put on a theatrical play. They love the attention.

Great place to stay! So eclectic and well decorated. Loved the maps on the walls, and the fact that there was a radio tuned to the country station. I got to meet the dogs, and Fern the pig, all very friendly. Marcella and her daughter Lilly (I didn't get to meet Meredith) made me feel right at home. They even had coffee and chocolate treats for me. Wonderful, relaxing backyard, perfect to sip coffee and enjoy the sunshine. I'm hoping to be back soon!
Not only is Marcella and amazing host, she makes the greatest toffee I've ever eaten (I even purchased a bunch to bring home for my wife - and she loves it too!)
The hospitality spills out into all areas of their rental. From the decorations, to the renovations in airstream, to the landscaping; everything makes you feel comfy and cosy and at home.
I was lucky enough to book three nights here and truly loved it so much there were times I just stayed in instead of exploring. It was relaxing and truly felt like a getaway.
They are only a few minutes outside of town so I was able to get to everything I wanted to see very quickly. And it's easy to avoid the busy north/south freeways and get around even during rush hour. I did have a car (I've heard Austin has good public transit, but I honestly don't know).
Feed the pig for sure! I thought he was taking a long time to chew the treat I gave him but he was actually giving kisses (they tough him to thank the person who gives a treat - how cute is that?!)
Seriously one of the best airbnb experiences I've ever had. I've stayed in places all around the country too. I would definitely stay here again, and longer next time!
We had an amazing weekend adventure to Marcella and Meredith's awesome Airstream trailer. They were incredible hosts and took the time to introduce us to everyone on their little farm. My girlfriend and I lived in Austin a combined 10 years and this trip helped us see a completely new side of the city.
I would recommend the Airstream to anyone and everyone looking to visit Austin.
I've been home for a week and I've had daily daydreams about our stay in the M&M trailer. I was drawn in by the photos of Fern and wondered if we might rough it in a trailer to be able to stay in such a wonderfully animal-filled yard. No need--the airstream is just as nice as a hotel, only cozy! We loved sitting outside and petting cats, visiting the pups and pig, and being shown snails and slugs by sweet young people. I watched as the chickens literally flew the coop. Those birds made me laugh with their feathered legs--like they were wearing pants :D Marcella took their exit in stride. It's clear she loves to create warm, beautiful spaces. A really kind family who were friendly and welcoming but also gave plenty of privacy. The airstream has its own key and it's easy to waltz through the yard gate and find a comfortable place to relax. Plenty of outlets for recharging phones, iPads, etc.
We had great weather but even if it had been hot or chilly Marcella has the airstream well-equipped with heaters and a/c. We used the heater at night since it dipped into the 40s or 50s and it was perfect. Other reviewers warned that the water heater was small and Marcella also warned about it. We didn't really have an issue, though it might have gotten lukewarm once when I dilly dallied. The shower is a stall that seems original to airstreams--compact and efficient (just an FYI for tall folks). The shower head can be removed to be handheld. The bathroom has a heavy curtain for a door, so it might be a little less private than home. But if you're traveling with people you're close to it's not an issue at all.
For those who are willing to plan ahead, I totally recommend a car2go membership. The airstream is just inside the "home area" for the carshare program and since it's a residential neighborhood we always found our car2go parked exactly where we had left it the night before. Registration takes about a week and a card has to be mailed. A local friend tipped me off in advance and I was really happy to be able to zip around on our own schedule!
Marcella's toffee was as delicious as promised and she had my extra toffee order ready for me fresh and just in time for our departure. What a dreamlife--so hard to be in a Brooklyn winter when all I want to do is go back to this airstream in Austin!
Marcella was a great host. Quirky little airstream with a great yard, awesome animals, and superb food recommendations. I'd definitely stay here again!
We booked a night at the airstream for Valentine's Day, as a little getaway, even though my boyfriend and I live in Austin. We were so pleased and had such a wonderful time! The airstream trailer is quite spacious, and is a wonderfully unique experience that I highly recommend to anyone else coming to visit Austin. Marcella and her family were also just so sweet and lovely hostesses. They have really decorated the trailer so elegantly. Every single detail was so cute! We loved supporting them, since they have this airstream trailer mostly to bring in extra cash for all of the children that they foster. Marcella also gives her guests a generous sample of the AMAZING English toffee that she makes from scratch! We enjoyed being around all of their lovely and friendly animals, as well, including Fern the pig! You really can't get a better priced and unique experience in Austin, in my opinion!
How can I sum up how adorable this place is? All the animals really make it an amazing place to stay. A car is ideal there if you don't want to work off of public transportation and cabs at night.
I had such a marvelous vacation here. The inside of the Airstream is so brightly decorated, it's like out of a movie. On warms, sunny days, it was hard to want to leave and explore Austin, but instead have a good cup of coffee in their stunning backyard. (The chickens were my favorite).
The hosts are lovely and attentive. They give you tons of privacy but everything you might need to ask about is a quick text away. Make sure you read the guest book, where the hosts have added lots of suggestions for places to eat or have coffee.
The location is terrific. I found myself bragging about places I had tried in Austin that none of my friends living here have tried, yet you can still get to downtown or anywhere you want very quickly.
Can't recommend staying with these wonderful people enough!
We had a fantastic stay at Marcella's, was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We felt welcome from the first moment we arrived and felt very comfortable in the airstream, which is tastefully furnished and decorated. Austin was quite cold during our stay but we found that the heaters warmed up the airstream quite quickly. We didn't have a car during our visit but it wasn't an issue as there is a bus service within walking distance that goes to the university and also downtown.
Marcella and her family are wonderful hosts and wonderful people, do yourself a favour and stay at this great place.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The airstream was so cute and cozy, and Marcella and Meredith were welcoming hosts. A winter storm blew through during our stay but Marcella provided us with space heaters and plenty of blankets. Thank you so much for having us!
