Interaction with Guests
We LOVE to chat with our guests, but also understand when people are looking for a private retreat. We live in the main house and spend a lot of time on our back porch and in the yard. Come talk to us and visit whenever you want. Or ask our girls to sing for you, do a gymnastics routine, or put on a theatrical play. They love the attention.
1. We LOVE pets, but please leave yours at home.
2. Speaking of pets, please enjoy ours while you are here.
3. Smoking (cigarettes, folks; not the special stuff) is okay as long as it happens outside and not in the trailer.
4. Although we want you, the guests, to enjoy the trailer and our yard as much as you can, please ask us before inviting others to join you.
5. Stay up as late as you want, but please keep it quiet after 10 pm. We want our neighbors to continue liking us. :)
What a CHARMING place!! I have bragged about staying here to so many people! The airstream is just as pictured: cozy, colorful, homey, and I loved the string of lights in the bathroom! The yard is as magical as the airstream itself: a meandering garden that gives privacy and space when having morning coffee outside ... and the pig! What can I say? - the pig snorted and whimpered and welcomed me back every time I entered the yard (ok, ok, maybe she was looking for food ...), and the chickens and cute dogs made me feel all the more welcomed. Access to Austin downtown is close and easy. Loved the location, the hosts, the vibe, and Marcella's homemade toffee. (oh really ... YUM). This place is A++++.
We loved this place! It was clean and comfy and Marcella was very accommodating when our train was delayed and we ended up arriving pretty late at night. She also gave us a fantastic recommendation for breakfast the next day. If I ever return to Austin, I will be staying here again!
Just got back from our stay at the MMAirstream in Austin. This place is a total dream. The perfect spot to return to after a day of exploring the city OR spend the afternoon at the Airstream working on a paper for grad school*! Everything you could possibly need is available to you in this sweet vacation spot. Definitely consider this on your next trip to Austin (or take a trip just to stay!) We rented a car for our trip and I would recommend that you do the same if staying at this location. It also gives you the opportunity to explore outside of the city, which has some amazing hikes and swimming spots.
*we can verify that it is perfect for both ;)
geez what can I say about this amazing little gem in east Austin...we loved it that's what! It's truly a little oasis and makes you never want to leave. We didn't meet Marcella, but her partner Meredith was super sweet and gave us some great suggestions about what to do in East Austin. She also introduced us to all the amazing animals that reside at their home; three dogs, a cat, chickens, and adorable pig. We loved playing with them. We only were able to stay one night in the airstream, but it was fully loaded, clean, and comfy. We had some awesome neighbors staying in the guesthouse on the property as well, and we got to chat and have coffee with them in the morning. We would def stay here again!!
This was the perfect place for my first time in Austin. Everything about her Airstream was perfect. From the delicious toffee to the map wall paper. This airstream sits in a beautiful yard with trees, flowers, lights, chickens, dogs, and a cute little piggy. I would definitely love to stay here again!
Marcella was a wonderful host and her family was lovely as well. The Airstream has been refurbished with great care and they have decorated it adorably.
It is situated in Marcella's home's backyard, but it set away from the house for a little bit of privacy. The backyard is also the epitome of adorable with strings of lights, 3 dogs, 9 chickens and a pig (I know the exact count because 2 of Marcella's adorable children filled me in).
Marcella was very easy to work, we arrived late at night and she left the key in an easy spot. She was also very responsive via email. My husband and I have a few friends in an Austin and we asked if we could have a small get together in their backyard. She obliged, and we had a great time eating La Barbecue.
This is definitely an "Austin experience" - from the Airstream to the welcoming nature of the people who reside there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an "alternative" visit.

About the Host, Marcella
Hi! My name is Marcella. Here's a little about me:
1) I have an amazing partner, Meredith, and an ever fluctuating number of kids living with us.
2) The reason why the number of kids changes is because we are foster parents.
3) Being a foster mom is the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done.
4) I began hosting on airbnb as a way to supplement our income and allow me to stay home with our kiddos.
5) I'm so glad I did, because I LOVE being an airbnb host!
6) When I have some free time, I love to garden or putter around outside doing projects.
7) I love animals but never expected to have quite so many.
8) I also never expected to be washing so much laundry as an adult. :)
9) I make really good English Toffee.
10) I always share some of my toffee with guests. :)
