We have a 6 bed room family run hostel located 8 km west of the town of Killarney. With amazing views of the McGillycuddy Reeks and Gap of Dunloe as well as chickens, a goat, rabbit and cat on site we love hosting guests in our homely hostel .
Dunloe View Hostel is situated 8 km west of Killarney town on the Ring of Kerry (N72) road. It is 5km from the famous Gap of Dunloe and close to Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula. It is an ideal base for touring the South West of Ireland.
Dunloe View Hostel is a newly refurbished hostel in a farmland setting with stunning views of the McGillycuddy Reeks. Onsite we have chickens, goats and a vegetable garden which provides the hostel with fresh produce, available for purchase to our guests. The hostel is owned and managed by the Moriarty family, who have many years of experience in catering for tourists. The family atmosphere and personal attention will ensure that your stay at Dunloe View Hostel is a memorable one. We can cater for 20 guests in a variety of rooms from private to dorm style accommodation including family rooms.All rooms have there own private bathrooms. We have a fully catered kitchen as well as a dining area and lounge room where you can relax in front of the open fire. There is a large garden for visitors use with seating provided next to our stream where you can unwind and relax or enjoy a barbecue with other residents of the hostel.
We have a fully equipped kitchen with cooker,microwave,fridge,dishwasher and other amenities for guests to use. There is also a dining room which contains books and board games as well as a lounge area with an open fire for our guests to enjoy.
We are surrounded by farmland with great views of the mountains. We are a short walk to the Laune river where you can fish for Salmon as well as the small village of Beaufort with 3 pubs and a grocery shop.
We are 4 km from the famous Gap of Dunloe which has amazing scenery.
There are countrywide services to Killarney during summer and bus services to Killarney all year around from major towns. For details on bus timetables and schedules see the Bus Eireann website.
From Killarney to the hostel: There is a local bus -Number 279 to Killorglin, that leaves from Killarney.
Get out at the O’Sullivans shop Beaufort Bridge stop.
Walk back in the direction of the bus towards Killarney and you will find the hostel on the left.
Some of our bus drivers will even drop you directly outside the hostel if asked politely.
We do not allow heavy drinking at our hostel and expect guests to be respectful of others sleeping at night time and reduce noise after 11 pm.
Un endroit plein de charme , resume au mieux le B and B de John. John acceuillant souriant et peux donner de riche conseils . Ces chambres sont propres et assez grandes . Les partie communes aussi et le petit dejeuner de John parfait avec en plus un pain fait maison et les oeufs frais de ses poules . Idealement situé et au calme . Un super souvenir que je recommande vivement .
Un petit "hostel" charmant, cosy et idéalement situé pour découvrir la région. Tout y est très fonctionnel, propre, et les parties communes (cuisine, salon, salle à manger) sont extrêmement agréables, et les petits déjeuners fort bons.
Un séjour plaisant qui doit également beaucoup à John, très accueillant, chaleureux et disponible.
Bref un endroit que je recommande chaleureusement.
Was perfect, felt being looked after. Great location, accommodation is excellent, very clean and the host is super smiley and always there to assist you with your needs. And btw house is nicely decorated and very cozy

Johns years of experience shows with everything he does. So Friendly, so helpful, to many people, doing all sorts of activities all at the same time. He has breakfast available in the am, bikes to rent, chickens, goats, and vast knowledge of the area. He assisted so many people with their plans seamlessly. Thank you john for you help and hospitality!!
