In a nutshell: new 1000 sqft duplex apartment with 20-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, balcony, and 600 sqft roof deck with open views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Recent guests have included celebrities such as Marisa Tomei and John Lithgow!
The longer version: I own a brand new 1 bed/2 bath duplex loft in the Park Slope/Gowanus area of Brooklyn, just 15 minutes from Manhattan on the train (the apt is just 3 blocks from the subway station). The real gem is the roof deck, although the balcony is lovely too. There are incredible, unobstructed views of Manhattan and Brooklyn both from the second floor and from the roof (yes, you can lay in bed watching the skyline).
The apartment features modern decor, high-end appliances (Bosch, Blomberg, etc.), washer and dryer, and two full baths -- one with a bathtub. While there is only one true bed (queen-sized), there is a comfy couch and a large air mattress that can sleep two more if needed.
First floor: kitchen, living area, dining area, full bathroom w/ bathtub, balcony with cafe seating. NOTE: I know the photos don't have the dining chairs -- they've only just arrived!
Second floor: glass bridge across apartment, bedroom w. Queen-sized bed, reading nook, full bathroom w/ marble floor and top-mounted shower
Third floor: Private roof deck with stair access from inside the apartment. Furniture set on roof includes loveseat, two armchairs, and coffee table. Plus there's a charcoal grill!
Transportation: The F and R trains are only three blocks away and get to Manhattan in 10-15 minutes, G train brings you to Williamsburg and Long Island City. In the area, you have all the restaurants, bars, and activities of Park Slope as well as the art galleries and quirks of Gowanus -- the apartment is on the border of both. And of course, you have the entirety of Prospect Park just a 15 minute walk away!
*Note: The stairway from the first to second floor is open on one side and doesn't have a railing, which may be a concern for families with infants or small children
No parties, although small gatherings are fine. Please respect the neighbors, the building, and the apartment -- it's my home and I do live in it (and love it to death) when I'm not out of town.
Most importantly: no shoes in the living room or the second floor, please. White rugs and dirty shoes do not play well together!
A contemporary and modern oasis in Dumbo. The apartment is warm, complete, and inviting. There are inspired views of downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. Tal is a great host and because of all this, my wife and I rented the apartment multiple times.
I rented Tal's apartment for a team offsite, and it was absolutely perfect! 7 of us spent the full day there brainstorming and cooking. Her friend Alex gave me the tour and even accepted a FreshDirect delivery before I arrived. There was plenty of table and wall space, plus tons of sunlight. The roof deck was beautiful, though it was too cold to hang out there. My team made more progress in one day professionally and in bonding than we had made in months of working remotely. We left reenergized and eager to return!
We rented tal's place for my wife to get ready before our wedding that was local.
Place is beautiful and great for photos as the natural light is great. Unfortunately we were unable to stay the evening due to unforeseen circumstances but we can only imagine how beautiful the city view is at night all lite up.
Lack of towels, be sure to bring some extra with you possibly. Not much room to hang/store personal belongings and there were some of the hosts personal belongings that should have possibly been put away before our arrival.
This listing was great! Tal was very accommodating and the space was absolutely beautiful. Huge windows provide great natural light and a view of Manhattan. I would absolutely use this space again in the future.
Amazing host. Flexible and accommodating beyond expectations. Gorgeous apartment and a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommended!
This is a nice spacious flat. it's a little overpriced and under equipped, but it's clean and airy. The area is quiet, but close to the subway and Prospect Park is really beautiful.
I used Tal's place to spend the night before my wedding day in Brooklyn. The space is beautiful, so much natural light, and great set up for getting ready. I know it is going to be great in all the photographs. And Tal even had a professional steamer I could use on my dress!
It rained the day I was checking in, so we didn't really get to use the roof deck. The next day there were puddles from the rain you had to hop over and some random things laying around up there, but still an enjoyable view of the city.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because check in took a bit longer than expected.

Hi! I'm Tal. I have my own software startup and I'm a born and raised New Yorker, although I recently moved back after chasing good weather in California for 5 years. When I'm not working -- and I'm usually working -- I'm either reading, building side projects, or doing something active: dancing, road tripping, soccer, you name it.
I also speak Hebrew and French -- although I have to admit I've forgotten a lot of my French (though I'm always glad to practice!)
If you stay at my condo, you can ensure a luxurious experience just minutes away from Manhattan as well as amazing unobstructed views of the whole city from the private roof.
