Bright and cheerful bedroom for one traveler in a beautiful apartment. We are in the heart of the Mission, where we enjoy the sunniest weather in San Francisco. You'll be very close to all the new bars and restaurants, the Valencia street corridor, and a block from 24th street. Mission Chinese Food, Flower and Water, Foreign Cinema, Lolo, Southern Pacific Brewery, Salumeria… They are all within walking distance from our house. Dolores Park is a pleasant 15 minutes stroll away.
Easy access to the 101 and 280 freeways and it’s super convenient to both BART and MUNI, for easy access to SFO, Union Square, the Ferry Building, AT&T Park, anywhere you want to go! Though we don’t provide a parking space and parking is difficult all over town, we can accommodate a rental bike under the deck in our back yard
There’s WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry available and an almost private bathroom (the bathroom is in the hallway, but you’ll be most likely the only one using it, since we have our own). There’s access to a private deck (with a hammock) and a shared backyard. We don't have roommates. It’s a very quiet building and a great place to relax.
I cook a lot and the kitchen is a bit of my own space where I go to relax in the evening. It's totally fine if you want to make yourself breakfast, but it gets too crowded when guests cook here, so I rather you didn't. Breakfast is not included.
We support water conservation, recycling and sustainability, we hope you value those as well.
Check in is between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM, sometimes we can be flexible with the hours, but make sure to let us know before hand if you are planning to arrive outside these hours to confirm that we can accommodate you. Please keep in mind that we do not accept reservations from guests with blank profiles and no photos of themselves. The room is for one person, so please don't bring an overnight guest, no exceptions. We speak English, Spanish, some Italian, Portuguese and basic Japanese.
Interaction with Guests
As opposed to a hotel, we don't have a 24 hour concierge, so once we agreed on your arrival time, please give us fair warning if you are changing your plans, I will do the same.
I'll be happy to provide recommendations to restaurants and general information about the city. Please don't bring visitors without asking first. There may be another guest and the place is not that big. ABSOLUTELY NO OVERNIGHT GUESTS.
We are 6 blocks from the 24th and Mission Bart station, connecting with the East Bay, the Peninsula and the airport. Several Muni lines stop within a couple of blocks and we are not too far from the 22nd St Caltrain station.
Other Things to Note
Some days (but not always) our dog may be here. He's a super friendly small 8 pound, 5 year old mutt that doesn't shed and is very quiet. Of course we think he's the cutest, but I guess we are bias. If this is a concern, please ask, I can give you a clear answer on weather he'll be here or not during your stay.
Quiet Hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM on weeknights, 11:00 PM to 10:00 AM on weekends.
No Smoking inside or within 25 feet of the front gate (including the sidewalk in front of the house.), but you can smoke on the deck.
Fresh linens and towels are provided and you can use the washer and dryer (between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM). You buy your own laundry soap, coffee, groceries, etc.
The room accommodates one person only. No overnight guests, no exceptions.
Paula was the perfect host during my stay in San Francisco. She was super friendly and sweet and made me feel right at home. I wasn't feeling too well at the beginning of my trip and she even made me a ginger lemon and honey drink to help me feel better! The room itself is cozy and comfortable, perfect for someone who is traveling alone. I would highly recommend anyone to stay with Paula.
My stay at Paula's was wonderful. Her place us located quite close to the bustling, bohemian atmosphere of the Mission District. Paula was an excellent hostess who made me feel comfortable and familiar with her home. The room was great and located in a quiet neighborhood, which was good for me, as I was busy conducting research for a grad school project
I had the perfect stay at Paula's lovely apartment. The neighbourhood is great - so interesting, lots to explore. I could've walked around for days. Its relatively flat too (compared to the rest of San Francisco). Close to lots of taquerias and the best ice cream at Humphry Slocombe! Easy to get to from the airport via the BART and easy to get into downtown San Francisco from the Mission/24th station (there are lots of busses too). The room is just as it looks in the pictures, comfortable bed, plenty of room and very clean. The shower is great (good water pressure!) The whole apartment is very tastefully decorated with lots of nice artwork. Paula was lovely, so friendly and happy to have a chat and provide tips on what to do or what the weather will be like but also respectful of privacy. She left flowers, mineral water and chocolate for me on arrival! There are also maps and tourist information left in the room, which was very helpful. I was sad to leave!
Paula was quite helpful both before and after my arrival, and she had great dining advice. Her home is lovely (artsy, eclectic), and the room, while small, has real charm. If you want to stay in the Mission, this is a great choice, within a few blocks of lots of super restaurants.
I had an awesome stay at Paula's place. The room was comfortable, clean and beautiful. I was there for just a quick stay, and it was a perfect place to land. Would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful place, right in the mission district. Paula ist a great host. I would come back anytime. Thanks Paula!

Love to travel and try to do it as often as possible. I have lived in different continents and always feel very curious about other cultures. I love to cook all sorts of things. My first language is Spanish, but I am also fluent in English and can communicate in Italian and Portuguese as well. Some Japanese that I'm beginning to forget, just don't use it often enough.
