Our guest corridor offers a single/twin/king bedroom, study & bathroom. We are a couple of minutes from the railway station, on a very quiet street, overlooking the School or Art gardens, within easy reach of everything that Aberystwyth has to offer.
The room has a single/twin/kingsize bed which can be made up to accomodate one or two guests. The bedroom looks out over Aberystwyth University School of Art grounds and is very private and quiet. The room can comfortably accommodate a couple or two friends.
The house is a three storey Victorian house which was completely renovated in 2010.
In addition to the guest accommodation there are two sitting rooms (both with fires) which guests can use, a kitchen/diner, a playroom, and the family bedrooms. The children are all on the second floor so can't be heard from the guest room!
Guests have exclusive use of the rear corridor which has a small study with desk etc, which also contains a selection of teas and coffee and a kettle, a large bathroom which has an original claw foot bath with a shower, as well as the bedroom itself.
Guests are welcome to make use of either of the sitting rooms. One has a TV with freeview channels and the other a TV with DVD player only. Guests can also make use of the washing machine and tumble drier which are located in the utility room of the kitchen.
There is a good wi-fi signal available in the bedroom and all of the first and ground floors as well as a mobile signal on most networks.
Guests do not have access to the top floor or playroom.
One or other of the family is around most of the time and we enjoy spending time with our visitors during their visits.
Aberystwyth is a lovely seaside town with a unique character, due to the combination of it's location and the impact of the University, the town's population increases by almost half in term time. As such we have a good range of restaurants and cultural attractions for such a small place!
We have details of local listings for the Arts Centre, cinema and museum, as well as local walks and the associated Ordinance Survey maps and local guides. Guests can borrow maps and guides as well as flasks for tea and coffee!
We are a very short walk from the bus and railway stations and about 5 minutes from the promenade, beach and sea.
There is on road unrestricted parking in front of thehouse and we are a 10-15 minute walk (allowing for the hill!!) from the main University campus.
We can offer a homemade continental breakfast for £2.50 per person or a cooked breakfast for £5.00 per person. All the breads are home cooked and we can cater for pretty much any dietary requirements with 24 hours notice.
Lovely family and hosts. Very comfortable room, pleasure to stay here! Thank you very much.
Well nigh perfect.
Rebecca, Matthew and their lovely family were warm and welcoming hosts in their comfortable home. Originally booked just for me, they rescued my student son as he was evacuated from his residence due to storms and high tides. I highly recommend this airb&b - Matthew's home made bread was truly delicious and sitting down to eat it with the whole family was a treat indeed. Thank you.
Rebecca and Matthew are excellent airbnb hosts and I very much enjoyed my recent stay with them in Aberystwyth.
The house is lovely and the bedroom is on its own floor with a dedicated guest bathroom that was just superb.
The whole family made me feel very welcome and I would definitely recommend a stay here if you are heading to Aber!
Rebecca and Matthew are great hosts - the room is very comfortable, we had a great time meeting their family and Matthew's breakfast and dinner taste delicious!
Fantastic experience, lovely family, great kids, clean, cosy house, street parking, fab food served by Matthew. Best BB in Aberystwyth by a mile!
It was lovely to meet Rebecca, Matthew and the family and stay in their warm and cosy room in a lovely part of Wales. Communication was great when placing the booking and throughout our stay.
Local restaurants and bars were close to walk too yet the house is located in a quiet street. We can recommend taking up the offer of breakfast and staying at Rebecca's and Matthews lovely home when visiting Aberystwyth.
We met Becky and Matthew on a rainy night and we had a very very (very) nice dinner with them, enjoying their house and company.
We had a great night and on the morning we left, but we sure would've love to spend more time with them. It's more than recommended to visit Aberystwyth and Rebbeca and Matthew. Works good as a combo.
Rebecca and Matthew have a beautiful home right in the center of everything. The location is truly a perfect spot to enjoy everything that Aberystwyth has to offer. We were welcomed immediately with a cup of tea and lovely conversation, and the rest of the stay was like that as well. They are charming hosts with a great space to share. Matthew's cooking is top notch as well, so be sure to have dinner with the family at least once. Wonderful stay overall.
The circumstances were dire. I needed a place to stay and there were few options in Aber. Rebecca and Matthew welcomed me into their household and made sure I was instantly comfortable and provided for. I trusted and liked them at once. Matthew is a fabulous and adventurous cook, and I'll miss the smell of his meals floating up from the kitchen and filling the house. A wonderful double-ended clawfoot tub and spacious bathroom, a lovely private room at the end of the hall, plus a little office with loads of tea. Nothing but positives to report.
