"This is not a typical apartment but a lifetime memory" As stated by a guest!!
-ideal for couples, honeymoons and special occasions.
This large and stately apartment is situated on a beautiful and dinamic pedestrian street in the loveliest part of the super hip Gòthic neighborhood, surrounded by all the most historic sights the city has to offer and right in the middle of the city.
The apartment in itself is unique in Barcelona as it is within a XVIII century palace.
Not only that, at the immediate street level you will find boutiques, restaurants and cocktail bars alongside tapas eateries, sunny cafe terraces and historical sights like the Cathedral (2mins away), Ciutadella Park and the Picasso Museum. Since it is so centrally located, the apartment will be the the perfect base from which to explore Barcelona by foot, bicycle or by metro.
The apartment itself is lordly, airy, and at 100 m2, super spacious. It boasts high ceilings( 6 meters) , wooden beams, original 18th century frescos , polished mosaic floors and there is a huge garden 100m2 with a neoclassic fountain that receives plenty of sunlight during the whole day.
The apartment is on the ground floor of a lovely 18th century palace belonging to the old catalan nobility that will soon be restored.
Even though the apartment is located right in the center of Barcelona there is absolutely NO city noise.
2 city bicycles are included in the price. The best way you could possibly want to get around town. You can bike down to the beach in 5 minutes.
The apartment consists of one large and comfortable bedroom that incudes a modern bathroom and a large open-plan living room( 65m2) and kitchen. Should you feel like cooking, the kitchen is fully equipped and features the best quality gourmet standards.
The apartment has been renovated as of February 2013 by a known local interior designer and is a superb example of mixing the antique with avantgarde.
The ultimate experience if you are looking for a historic and luxurious retreat.

Wow - experience is the word!! Absolutely stunning! Everything is fab from the incredibly comfortable bed, to deep bath, huge living room and sunny, sunny terrace. Footsteps always from the main streets yet a secluded spot from the noise and humdrum! Wonderful stay - thank you!
Fernando is very nice! The apartmrnt is wonderful ! Location is convnient.
I and my husband love this place and had a good memory!
We booked this apartment for 7 nights. We ended up staying 4 nights and then checking into a hotel. In the photos it looks like a luxury apartment, but in reality it is not. It is located in a very old building, with inadequate insulation, plumbing, lighting, and pest control. There is an outdoor washing machine, but no drier (so expect to lay your clothes out on a drying rack after washing them).
I’ll start with what was good: the location. It is in the center of the Gothic neighborhood and very walkable to shops and restaurants. The towels and bedding were also very clean. It was very nice to have a private courtyard. Though the neighborhood is quite busy at night, we did not hear street noise.
Now on to what I think anyone considering staying here needs to know:
It was almost impossible to regulate the temperature, and we dealt with either very cold (AC on) or hot and humid conditions (AC on low or off). The water temperature never went past warm in the shower; the pressure was exceedingly low, and turning up the water volume led to overflow of the shower drain and water on the bedroom floor. There is a Japanese restaurant below the apartment, and at night the bedroom smells strongly like a Japanese restaurant. Old wooden doors to the courtyard do not seal completely.
There are no lights in the kitchen and at night the apartment is very dark. There are cobwebs throughout the apartment, but particularly in the dark little toilet stall. If you are bug averse (see below) be warned!
Access to the apartment is shared with a Japanese restaurant and lawyer's office via a short corridor off Carrer Comtal. Both have late opening hours so in the mornings we needed the flashlight on our phones to get from the stairway to the street in this completely dark corridor.
Most of this was tolerable, but what led us to leave were ants. There were ants in the bed presumably coming from a colony marching in mass into the bedroom through the door that led to the courtyard. We ended up having to spray to kill the ants, but this didn’t completely fix the problem. We moved to a hotel and emailed Fernando to let him know about the problems. He promptly responded to say he could fix them straight away, but we never heard back from him regarding resolution. In the end we paid for a hotel for 3 nights plus 7 nights in this apartment. I would recommend that if you are not up for roughing it, either find a different apartment or stay in a hotel.
Fernando was a great host and very easy to communicate with making my wife and I feel very welcome. The apartment was a dream, very very cool with a great outdoor area and high ceilings plus it was located in a exciting and centrally located area of town. A+
Fernando was great to work with! He responded very quickly to our inquiries and our arrival / departure went smoothly. The apartment is very unique & beautiful & could not be in a better location. We came to Barcelona to do some site-seeing, but we wish we could have spent more time in the apartment!
Fernando's Palazzo is just amazing. A truly grand and beautiful space in a wonderful city. It was so lovely to just lay in bed with the courtyard doors open and listen to the birds singing in the mornings....
It's location to the centre of the city and all the shops and tourist attractions was perfect.. Just get the airport bus to the city and its a 5 minute walk from there.
Fernando was very attentive to all our needs and though he wasn't able to meet us on arrival he did arrange for his cleaner to let us in.
There are 2 flights of stairs to get to the apartment (23 steps) in case that is a problem.
Also if you are sharing the apartment its worth noting that the toilet, bath and shower are all in the bedroom.
The front door lock was a bit tricky but I finally managed to master it, the lounge can be a bit dark as there is not a lot of natural lighting and care needs to be taken in getting out of the shower as the steps are quite high.
I would really recommend staying here, by far the grandest airbnb accommodation I have have experienced.
This place was absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and cozy. The location was great! It made getting around so easy. We could walk to pretty much everything. The private patio was so lovely to sit in after a long day of site seeing. We loved loved loved staying here and were super sad to leave!
