About this listing
Gorgeous 2 bedroom in the best location in Amsterdam. Designer artwork, comfortable, please read our reviews our guests have absolutely loved their stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful city of Amsterdam! Eva
This is your opportunity to stay in a renovated 'Rijksmonument' apartment from 1666.
Our beautiful apartment is located on the Prinsengracht, overlooking two historical bridges and a tranquil canal.
This area is the most beautiful and photographed scene in Amsterdam, sit at your window that directly overlooks the water and watch the boats sail by. Our apartment is located on the first floor of a historical monument building that has been fully restored to its original glory and renovated to feature all modern day comforts and luxuries. It is conveniently located in the heart of the Jordaan district, an area known for its beautiful canals, historic buildings and wonderful shopping. In the area is a huge variety of small local shops, cafes and restaurants. On Saturdays there is an organic farmers market and on Mondays there is a flea market just around the corner at the Noordermarkt. Central Station, Anne Frank house, and a number of other museums and historic locations are all within walking distance. Public transportation and grocery stores are all within a few minutes. The best shopping area, the 9 streets with wonderful Dutch and international boutiques, is only a 7 minute walk from your front door.
The apartment is 70 m2 and has an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area, a master bedroom with ensuite, a guest bedroom, a toilet and a laundry. The apartment can sleep up to 4 people. We are happy to provide a baby cot if required. It has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. A flatscreen television and wifi are also connected in the apartment. Best of all it's on the first floor so very easy for luggage and or older guests. Trust me in Holland most apartments are full of stairs, we only have 10 for you to climb! It's also very quiet although central so we promise you'll have a great night rest as well.
Our apartment has featured in a monthly column in the famous Dutch interior design magazine 101 home ideas for the past 12 months. All of our artwork and vintage pieces have been specifically chosen to give the apartment a unique, creative, warm feel. We look forward to welcoming you to your own little home away from home!

We would prefer couples or families who will respect our lovely apartment. This is not a party apartment as we want to retain the wonderful relations we have with our neighbours. If you have a baby we can supply you with everything you need including a monitor, steriliser and pram if required. STRICTLY NO SMOKING.
This was the first experience with Airbnb for my wife and I. We could not have asked for better. Eva was a wonderful host. She communicated well right up to arrival and then as we left. Her appartment was just as described, well appointed, very comfortable and an easy walking distance to all things Amsterdam. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay.
We stayed in 6 different apartments/hotels as we traveled Europe and our Amsterdam apartment was our favorite. Every room was comfortable and had all amenities, but the view of the canal was by far the best part. When we returned from a long day of touring Amsterdam, we didn't mind eating in and watching the boats and people just outside our front door on the best canal in the city. A better view than from any restaurant. The host was wonderful and accommodating. We highly recommend this apartment!
Nicely in contact, but not excessive before arrival. So welcoming when we did arrive! We really felt like guests in their home. The apt is super 'gezellig', you could spend all day watching boats go by! But then you'd miss out on all the nearby attractions! And the bedrooms are in the back and nice and quiet. Bath is through the master BR, but toilet off the hall, which we liked! Best airbnb ever! Thanks To the whole Barrett family, for making us feel so welcome!
Eva welcomed us at the apartment and showed us all the facilities. The apartment was as it was shown and described and was just perfect. Beautiful neighbourhood with the canal in front. The apartment was clean, light and airy and very comfortable. We walked everywhere from the apartment as it is wonderfully located. We have recommended the apartment to some friends who are travelling later this year. We would stay in the apartment again if we have the chance.
That was a fantastic apartment, close to the central station and central Amsterdam. The apartmant was very clean, and has everything what guests need during short - or long time visit, furnichings where all very comfortable. I would definitely book it again, we had a lovely stay! Eva was a great host, very welcoming, she gaves all information what we needed.
The description of the apartment is accurate, my granddaughter and I felt at home.
The neighborhood is the best place to be In Amsterdam, it's more like you are one of the locals than a tourist.
The open market (Saturday's and Monday's) is fantastic, do not miss the lady with the African made Jewelery (SternAfrica) you will thank me!
I will recommend this apartment. Everything went smoothly, I did not meet Eva, she was on vacation, but she arranged a key box and a combination to access it. No problem.

About the Host, Eva
Hello we are an Australian couple living in Europe. We have recently renovated a wonderful apartment in the Jordaan Amsterdam. It's been a labour of love, the house is from 1666, so it's a true monument. We love travelling and have been to every continent around the world - except Antartica (we did make it to the southern most part of Argentina though!) We have lived in Amsterdam for almost six years and before that the UK and Asia. We're social, friendly, trustworthy and love meeting new people. We are also renting out our family home in Melbourne. Australia. Both of our parents still live there and look after the property. We look forward to welcoming you!
