A sweet 1 bedroom log cabin in the best setting in the Denli Park area. Very private, on a crystal clear lake surrounded by big beautiful mountains. The cabin has a real nice kitchen hot/cold running water, full bath, everything you need but your personal gear and food, and Denali Park's first and only solar powered guest cabin!. Kind of our 'honeymoon suite', yet some guests, especially Alaskans, have had up to 8 people staying here with tents in the yard. WIFI, Apple TV, your own fire pit.

The space
Only 2 guest cabins ( also listed on Airbnb, Maggie's Cabin) on my 50 acre homestead bordering Denali National Park, lots of quality space, not at all crowded. Truly Alaskan with great hiking trails around our 3 private lakes, through the woods and up and down the Jack River. Average stay is 4 nights and a lot of our guests arrive and do not get in their vehicle for days, a wonderful setting to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Where you’ll be

Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska, United States

Really no neighbors, our place is very unique in that you will not be staying in a subdivision with many cabins or rooms packed into a small parcel. Here your neighbors are the Moose, Owls, Fish and Beavers....the natural world is what will surround you. Yet you are right off the main highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks, just 21 miles south of Denali National Parks entrance and all the big hotels, activities, eateries, bus trips etc.

Born and raised in New York, I came to Alaska in 1980 and never looked back. Never had a real job, always have lived and made my living in the wilderness in many different ways, big game hunting guide, trapper, kids counselor, raft guide, fishing guide, antler hunter, bush pilot, etc. Been written up in several national magazines, got 'Outfitter of the Year' for many years, when my life wrapped around traveling the wilderness on horseback. I do a lot of hiking, biking, skiing, backpacking and one of my current passion is to continue taking my place, home and life away from carbon emitting fossil fuels, so there are lots of solar panels, wind generators etc working on our homestead. I help others buy and install alternative energy systems through out the area. Another is our private 'world class' fishery that I developed in the last 20 + years on this homestead. I sure enjoy sharing my wonderful homestead on the edge of Denali with guests from around the world and hopefully you too!.
