  • We loved staying at the Katz's! The rooms were beautifully arranged with everything we needed, even some water which came in very handy after a late night at Penn State. So easy to work with, everybody in our party agreed that we'd definitely like to go back again next year!

  • Garren was very personable and welcoming before our visit and communication during was great too. The location of Garren & Deirdre's home is perfect...close enough but not too close to Penn State which we were visiting with our son. The home was very clean, nice and comfortable.
The only down side - and this is person dependent - is that there is or was a dog (perhaps at a kennel?) and my husband is very allergic. We did not know this ahead of time so he did not have medicine on hand. Good news...there is a drug store close by but it was a long night of wheezing and wakefulness. If you do not have an allergy it is a great place (fine for me!). Good to know, the wifi log in is on the refrigerator and there is not a TV (again, fine for us!).
If not for the animal factor we would DEFINITELY go back - many times over if our son ends up at Penn State. Instead, we will just recommend it to our non allergic friends for now.

  • What a charming place! Tidy as can be, very comfortable and cute. Convenient to the campus but removed enough that you don't feel inundated with the students. I would return in a heartbeat.

  • We rented the entire house for a football weekend and everything went very smoothly. Garren was very helpful and generous in offering us any of his tailgating equipment. The house is close to town, was very clean with comfortable beds, nice shower and secluded backyard for your morning coffee break. Would definitely stay again.

  • Garren and Deirdre were such a wonderful introduction to the world of airbnb. Deirdre was nice enough to pick me up from the MegaBus bus stop and bring me to their apartment, and their friend was also awesome and dropped me off there upon my departure. It was a shame I wasn't able to see more of them (busy schedules), but I would recommend them to anyone! Very easy and they had everything I needed (towels, maps, a clean place to stay). Also, within a mile of the edge of the Penn State campus.

  • Garren and Deirdre were the most fabulous people one could ever deal with. They were amazing, their place was more than fabulous and they were so welcoming with anything thing everything we could ever need. Thyere the hostesses with the absolute most!
We would recommend their fabulous apt for any event.
The apt was well equipped with everything we could \everwant and the beds were completely comfortable. We requested a blender and it was there when we arrived.
We were in a great location with nice backyard and easy bus access right out front. It just was a fabulous place to stay while here at my niece's wedding.

  • We were so lucky to find Garren, Deirdre and Hunter and their State College oasis! What an easy trip with friendly hosts - they turned a wedding event into a mini vacation for us. Centrally located with wifi maps, we were even able to walk to some of the events, which made life easy. Garren even was kind enough to drive me back to my car after the wedding. We would highly recommend these two who made our first air bnb experience one for the books!
