Giovanni is an excellent host. He met us with a warm greeting and lots of good information. And he was very gracious when I called him one night at 10pm and couldn't get into the apartment because I had broken the key!
This apartment worked really well for us. Great location -- close to markets, restaurants, ATMs, and a very comfortable walk to all the sights. Interesting and safe neighborhood. Comfortable beds, interesting spaces. The building is literally 1000 years old, so this is not a modern hotel. But this will be true about every apartment in this neighborhood, and this is why I stay in an apartment rather than a hotel: Its quirks are part of its charm, and the pleasure of staying in a residential neighborhood is totally great.
Be aware of a couple of things: the shower is sized for a person of average height; it is slightly challenging for a person who's 6'5". There is some street noise at night, especially on Saturday -- easily mitigated by the NoiseBox app on an Ipad. The washing machine did not work while we were here -- but we just went to a nearby laundromat and were quite happy with their washers and dryers.
All in all, this apartment is an excellent value. Thanks, Giovanni!
Great central location, with everything within walking distance. Considering the location, it was reasonably quiet in the evenings. Occasional noise from passers by late at night, but if you choose to sleep in the rear bedrooms I would imagine this would be prevented. Giovanni is a good host, he met us at the apartment slightly earlier than the check in time, and gave us a warm welcome. The apartment itself could do with a little TLC, but all in all it was a very positive experience.
Giovanni's apartment was clean and safe. The location could not have been better! We had a wonderful time using this apartment as a home base for our explorations. Giovanni was friendly and helpful, and took the time to meet me in person and share with me information about Florence.
This residence in Florence was centrally located for the city and very convenient for drop off and pick up of taxi or train. We were in walking distance of all major sites and plenty of shopping and food options. The two bedroom and one bath apartment slept the three of us perfectly (lots of room) and was very a spacious set up. The kitchen setting is great for a quick meal or preparing a picnic to take with you. The washing machine is an added convenience and was helpful and very quiet. We did have a small plumbing issue, which our hosts addressed immediately and had fixed within 12 hours. The toilet was actually never fixed totally, but was workable, so this could have been avoided. The apartment felt very safe and secure and was in a quiet building. We left windows open for extra air flow and it reached the entire apartment in just a few minutes. Maura made herself available to us at all times, with a small language barrier that we were able to decipher through! The apartment is priced on the higher end of rooms in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much in Florence!
Giovanni's apartment was perfect for three people. Very clean and in a very conveniently located in the Santa Croce area. Giovanni was very communicative and easy to get a hold of. Thank you for the great stay!
Giovanni is a really nice host who offers lots of support. We were just too busy with our agenda that we couldn't accept all his help. Oh, and they made a little travel book just for us. The awesome.
The location of the appartment is perfect and we couldn't have thought about anything better to stay. Thanks a lot!
Giovanni was an excellent host, welcoming us with recommendations and printouts of things to see and do in Florence. The apartment was cozy and clean, and it was in an excellent location. We were steps away from Santa Croce square and the Basilica of Santa Croce and only a short walk away from the Duomo. Fit four people very comfortably. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Florence.
Giovanni was really helpful. He came to give us the keys earlier than the check in and on a short notice to allow us to visit the city. He showed us around the flat and left us documentation for our stay.
The flat is nice and clean, and very well located (near Santa Croce). The kitchen is well furnished (we ate there every night). The bedrooms are as in the pictures, very nice.
The street is very narrow and calm during the day, but we were not lucky at night as youngsters stayed in the street and it got noisy.
All in all, I recommend Giovanni and his flat. For the price, the location and the flat are perfect!
Giovanni's apartment is lovely and quaint. It is very handy and you and walk to all of the major sites. Santa Croce is at the end of the street and the kids loved visiting the Christmas markets by themselves (and buying strudel). Giovanni met us with a bottle of wine to welcome us and gave us a booklet of things to do in Florence. We would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a Florentine experience!
