About This Listing
Cosy house with unlimited wifi, very quiet location.
Hi from Cork, Ireland!
We have a double room with a king size comfy bed available (also a single room for females only, check other listing). Unlimited wifi available. The house is 20min walk from the city centre, 10min walk from UCC, a short bus trip to Cork University Hospital. The house is modern, very clean and tidy. There is a large walk-in shower (shared). I'm chatty, social & busy in my early 40s. I enjoy a glass of wine but it isn't the place for party animals!
Parking available & on major bus route into Cork City & CUH. Linen & Towels will be provided. You will have full use of the house (except the living room when my son & I are home).
There are shops 2min walk - Supervalu & Lidl and the house is just around the corner from 'The Lough' which is extremely picturesque. There is no breakfast provided.
If you would like to experience a friendly Cork home at a fair price get in touch! Hope to hear from you soon.
FEMALES & COUPLES ONLY
June/July/August, min 2 nights at weekends (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday).
Look forward to hearing from you!
You have access to the full house when both myself & my son are out. But we would like the living room available to us when we are home.
Interaction with Guests
If I am at home I would be more than happy to give recommendations. Sorry, there is no breakfast provided, but you are more than welcome to use the kitchen.
The proximity to everything is the charm about the area, 20min walk to the city centre, 3min walk to the Lough, 5min drive to Cork Airport, 10min walk to UCC & just off the South Link motorway.
Walk, bus or drive.
No smoking in the house or no pets.
We had a great stay with Cathriona in her nice house. Very helpfully she gave us a lift to the city and explained where to go and find some bars, restaurants, etc...Next to this she arranged a taxi the next day to pick us up very early in the morning... So thanks for a short but lovely stay..
Nice house near cork center, Cathriona was very kind and trustful.
The house was in a great location and the room was very clean! Cathriona was very communicative and helpful before we arrived, checking in to make sure we had what we needed. It was a great place to relax and rejuvenate during our road trip around Ireland!
We had a great stay with Cathriona and her family in Cork. Prior to the arrival there was good communication and upon arrival Cathriona greeted us at the door. She is very friendly, helpful and even went out of her way to drop us off in town when it was raining. She showed us around and left us a summary of important information as well as some maps and recommendations of things to do in the area. The house was very homely with a comfortable room and clean bathroom equipped with some essentials and fresh towels. Whilst breakfast was not included we were offered and encouraged to help ourselves to tea and coffee. We were told there was no WiFi as previous guests had exceeded the limit but Cathriona kindly lent us her phone to look up what we needed. She was in the process of changing over to unlimited when we left. Thanks for a lovely time - we enjoyed our brief stay!
Our visit was great! Cathriona was very helpful- with a great printout about everything from how to work the heater to the nearest bus route. The room was clean and bed was comfy! She also allowed us to use her awesome espresso machine. When Cathriona and her son left for school/work in the morning we hardly heard them (and I'm an extremely light sleeper)! Overall great experience.
The house was nice, but we didn't have the chance to meet Cathriona, because she was outside the city when we were there. We had complet access to the house, wich was really nice, but we didn't have internet and when you are travellers, internet is really important... The house was a bit complicated to understand (the heat, the hot water, the garbage, etc.) because english isn't our first language and everything was writting in english.
About the Host, Cathriona
I am in my mid 40's, very easy going and enjoy meeting new people. I have been doing Airbnb since the beginning of 2013 and love it. I work full time as a Personal Assistant, and like to keep busy in the evenings.
It's just my son (Andrew) & I living here during the week, he will be gone on holidays for the summer months - June/July & August).
My partner lives in Dingle, so I spend every weekend there but you are more than welcome to stay anytime. All house details will be sent well in advance.
Any questions, just ask!
