It is easy to get to Akureyri!
Icelandair is offering flights to Akureyri. So it is as well just a 45 Min. flight from Reykjavik downtown to Akureyri. It is only a 7km drive from the airport to our house. If you are driving, Akureyri is on the ringroad and is a approx. 5 to 6 hours drive from Reykjavik. To stay in vaðlaheiði you need a car.
The property offers a quiet position and a great view.
It is a easy access to the center of Akureyri and the beautiful places in its surroundings.
Wonderful appartment with a beautiful view over Akureyri. Full equipped kitchen and a big refrigarator prefilled with beer&wine and enough room for our stuff and a huge music selection for entertainment. Loved this appartment, wished we could stay longer.
This house was our first stop after Reykjavik on a clockwise drive around the ring road. The layout is cozy and great for a couple. It's a 5 minute drive to the city for restaurants/groceries, or 30 minutes from horseback riding or epic waterfalls. There's an amazing view of Akureyri at night, too.
We really enjoyed our time in this nice little studio overlooking the fjord and the city. It was cosy and warm - we loved the underfloor heating! It is not so easy to access when there is snow - but we had no trouble with our 4x4. The host send us detailed maps beforehand to make sure we find the house. The studio has everything you need and everything was as described and shown in the pictures. We would definitely recommend to stay here on a trip around Iceland!
Jorunns's place was amazing and she was an excellent host. I highly recommend staying here!
Absolutely amazing place! The location was really beautiful and the house was amazing. The space was big, clean, modern and really cozy to stay in. We had a phenomenal view of Akureyri and the water, and the town was only a quick drive away.
My only wish was that there would have been directions on how to get there as it was very difficult to find without contacting Jorunn first, but she was super helpful and very quick to respond. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Very nice and lovely place. Host was very nice and make every effort to ensure everything is well and you are comfrotable
It was a great place to stay on our route around the Ring Rd. Very cute place and just the right size for two people. It has all the essentials you need in the kitchen to cook at home (which we did!). We had trouble with the Internet, tv and computer. They had a number to call but we did not have a working cell phone so that left us kind of out of luck. We had to go into Akureyri to get wifi to book the rest of our hotels. When we came back there were people staying next door so I stopped by to ask if they were having issues. They rebooted the router in their unit that ran all of them and we were all good! Other than that, it was a great spot and had a wonderful view of the water and Akureyri.
