Really cool place with a neat design and layout. The inside looks just like the photos and we were very pleased. It felt obvious that no one lives there and it's just a rental. There were a few things missing like a trashcan in the bathroom, handles or knobs on the kitchen cabinets, etc.
The outside was a little different than we expected. The photos make it look like it's secluded in a grassy field. It's actually surrounded by other houses and on a hill. The view of the city was a nice surprise, but we would have preferred the secluded feel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. It's a very cool place. I probably wouldn't stay here again, or if I did I would try to stay on the other side. Another guest parked their car right next to one of our windows, so the view was not so nice anymore.
We had a great experience! The house was beautiful, well kept and in a spectacular location. The host was great, leaving us food and drink. Very happy overall stay!
What an amazing studio! This is the place to be in Akureyri... Jórunn, Mirra and their Mother and Grandpa are absolutely lovely and take care of everything. The house and the studio are simply awesome. If you love modern architecture, design and interior you will love Villa Lola. It is perfectly located and offers all you need to make you feel at home right away. Wonderful music, fully equipped kitchen, fantastic bed and and and... very quiet place and yet just a few minutes away from the city centre. Thank you for this little paradise! Highly recommended. *****
Really artistic place with stunning views of Akureyri. I had a great run up and down the hills where this is situated! The apartment is not the most user-friendly, and my boyfriend and I are both very tall so had some trouble with the floating stairs and angles. Had a couple of loud knocks on the door over the course of one morning - someone came to fix the hot water, and we had no problems with it, but the visits woke us up after a late drive and caught us by surprise. We didn't have a 4x4 and had trouble with the steep drive after a recent snowfall, but in clear weather (or with a better car!) I don't think it would be a problem. But a lovely setting and a great place to sit and read by the big windows, and Jorunn and Mirra were very attentive and helpful.
