Staying at Lysa and Don's mountain house in Ridgway was nothing short of amazing. I am convinced they have the best view of the mountains anywhere in Colorado. I was absolutely floored by the scenery and their generosity throughout our stay. The house is beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, Don and Lysa were eager to offer us tips on restaurants and things to do in the area, and I cannot describe how much Lysa will spoil you with breakfast! Homemade zucchini bread, omelettes, bottomless coffee, juice, fruit salad, yogurt, and more.
I requested to stay with them at a time that extended past what they posted as available, and Lysa was happy to adapt to my request even though they had to catch a flight at 6 AM the day we left! They treated us like friends and we really hope to return in the near future. Do yourself a favor and stay with Don and Lysa!
My wife and I loved our stay at Lysa and Don's house in Ridgway. What a beautiful spot! The views are incredible, and the house is comfortable and spacious. There were so many places to hike in the area, and multiple hot springs to soak in when the day was done. We could not have enjoyed our vacation more. Thank you to Lysa and Don for having us in their gorgeous home.
Lysa and Don were very accommodating, have a fantastic house in a superb location and made our stay very enjoyable. They were flexible to our schedule and gave us all the privacy we needed while also being attentive and helpful. Would definitely reccomend for a couple. This is one of those places that I'd say is best for a 2 night stay or more as with just a one night stay you wouldn't really get to know them and get as comfortable.
What a pleasure it was to stay in beautiful Ridgway Colorado at the True Grit Mountain Retreat. Lysa is a lovely and charming hostess, and she made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The lovely house is immaculately kept and the breakfast she prepared for us,which included her making certain our unusual food needs were completely met, was simply great!! While we only had one night to spend there we felt extremely well cared for, fell in love with the dog, Tristan, and look forward to staying there sometime in the future. For hot springs lovers, it is
also very conveniently located just a short drive to Orvis Hot Springs, one of the very best you will find in Colorado.
We had a wonderful time at Lysa and Don's True Grit Rustic Mountain Retreat. The accommodations, breakfasts, and view were all fabulous! Lysa and Don were very friendly and gave us great recommendations for dining and activities in the area. This was an excellent experience for us and we hope to stay there again in the future!
Great time with two exceptional hosts. Wonderful bed and breakfast and very helpful info on surrounding hikes and restaurants.
What a wonderful space, family and area to visit. Don and Lysa were fantastic hosts and the space they provided was beautiful. From the scrumptious breakfasts, their beautiful home and their lovely company they succeeded in making our trip perfect.
Don & Lysa's home was very nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the peaceful environment and their location in the San Juan's . Was perfect . Exactly what I was looking for.
They prepared a very nice breakfast with coffee each morning.
My overall experience was very nice and would highly recommend it to anyone .
The experience at True Grit begins right at the arrival. The location is breathtaking. Lisa and Don make you feel at home. The house is beautiful, confortable and extremely well kept. Lisa's breakfast is anything but common place. When we were there she cooked us a delicious egg souflé. Our only regret was staying just for one night. It wood be great to get to know them better. There are so many options of things to do and see in that region of Colorado, that we are sure will be back soon. We loved it.
We had a most wonderful visit here. Our hosts were warm and personable . The fresh fruit and scones breakfast was delicious. The view was spectacular . Good place if you like dogs-thanks Tristan! The bed was very comfortable and we appreciate the bedside chocolate and water bottles.
