This Rijksmonument house has breath-taking views of Amsterdam's most famous and prestigious canal – the Amstel - which gives Amsterdam its name. The apartment is located on the lower floor of the building, allowing those views from the entrance door. This location places the property right in the heart of Amsterdam’s Unesco World Heritage site, yet meters away from the Pijp, a neighborhood famous for its bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as the city’s biggest market.
Directly opposite the apartment is the glamorous Royal Theater - The Carré – which you reach by crossing the romantic Magere Brug. A little further a long is, the exclusive Amstel hotel, the Hermitage and the Opera house (Het Muziektheater).
You can wake up in the morning and take in the views with a cup of coffee on our bench, before popping into a neighborhood bakery for breakfast croissants. In the evening, stroll along to one of the many nearby restaurants before enjoying a drink at a typical Amsterdam bruin café.
Walk just 100 meters, and you can find yourself on the Utrechtsestraat, renowned for its restaurants, cafes, designer boutiques, lovely bakeries and wine shops. The local feel of the Utrechtsestraat makes it an excellent option for tourists who want to become “Amsterdammers” (even if only for a couple of days). Plus, it’s a prime spot for hunting out the best and most original gifts to take back home. For the partygoers, popular Rembrandt Square is only 500 meters away.
For exploring further afield, there is a tram stop just 50 meters away, with a direct line to both the museum quarter and central station.
The 60m2 apartment is located on the lower floor (souterrain) of a 19th century canal-side townhouse, and has its own separate entrance. The étagè is separated from the main house by a wooden lid in the stairs, allowing you maximum privacy.
The space was completely renovated in 2012, bringing modern luxury and light into the 150-year-old property, while retaining original features, such as the ceiling beams.
The apartment has two bedrooms (one double; one single), as well as a dining area, separate bathroom and toilet, utility closet with washer and dryer, and under-floor heating (see features).
This is a kids-friendly place, with the possibility of a crib.

Your car can be parked in a regular street parking next to the house, however one should take in to account that Amsterdam parking fees are one of the steepest in Europe, charging 5 euro an hour (free of charge from midnight till 9am). The more reasonable parking option is to park your car about 2-3 km off the city center where the parking is free. It is not really close by, but there are good public transport connections between the Amstel and the free parking areas of Amsterdam making it very accessible. Another option are the designated parking garages out of the center, they charge 8 euro for 24 hours, very accessible and allow you to leave your car in a gated area.
•Smoking is not allowed
At check in you will be required to pay a security deposit of 100 euro in cash. The deposit will be refunded back to you upon your departure. With your arrival, as the keys are provided I will do a walk-thru of the apartment in order to confirm that the apartment is in the condition that you expected. The same will be done upon your departure.
Further more, following Air BnB recommendation I would like to take a picture of an Identifying document of either of the guest, for safety reasons only.
Alex is a great Host... she is a very friendly, welcoming and helpful Person. She helped us with Information on car parking and on places to visit etc. and Alex offered us a late check out on the day of departure which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer due to other appointments back home. We will definitely return to Amsterdam and hopefully we will be able to book again with Alex!
Alexandra nous a accueillis chaleureusement, avec le sourire et beaucoup de gentillesse. L'appartement est douillet, joliment décoré et très bien situé au centre ville mais dans une rue calme, ce qui était fort appréciable.
Great place, brilliant people. Definitely going back! If you are looking for a place in the city center, walking distance everywhere - choose Amstel 300! Alex - once again - thx so much!
A wonderful apartment located central in Amsterdam. The host, Alexandra, helps you with what ever you need.
Alex was a wonderful hostess! We had trouble finding parking at the local garages and she went above and beyond the call of duty by attempting to contact alternatives for us. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves- the location is central to EVERY THING!!!
Welcome to Amsterdam, my idea of a user friendly city!
Amsterdam is a lovely place to spend a few days in, particularly if you will be able to dive in to the local rhythm of life.
Living in the 400 year old canal belt of Amsterdam allows one a fairytale like feeling, its a bubble of village life in a middle of a very modern and vibrant city. And this is the exact sensation we want our guest to experience.
After a decade of living in Aruba, Dutch Caribbean, we moved back to NL and were fortunate enough to "land" on the Amstel. Four years passed and we added 2 little creatures to the clan (a boy and a girl).
You're very welcome to enjoy this beautiful part of Amsterdam from a fully private floor that we renovated last year.
