Our host, Pedro, was amazing! Helped with taxis and gave us great advice for the local areas about restaurants, stores etc. It seems like he knows almost everybody!
Description was accurate and the room we stayed in was intimate and romantic! A very quant single room with private bathroom built on a beautiful jungle hillside away from the main house/common area. Hot showers as long as no one else is running water. If you don't know, hot showers are kinda a big deal if you're in Costa Rica for us visitors. WiFi doesn't quite reach the private rooms but is accessible in the common area and courtyard.
The neighborhood is up a hillside which is very secluded and may be difficult to get up and down without a car. At the bottom of the mountain is a bus stop that can get you just about anywhere you need to go with a couple transfers. Luckily for us we had help from the other house guests who had rented a car and would sometimes give us rides since we did not rent a car of our own. Taxi to the closest beach from the house, Dominical, one-way runs you about $24 or 12 mil colones. Further up the mountain, after a short hike, is a waterfall which was absolutely majestic (ask Pedro for location). You get to fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Maybe see a monkey :) For food, the kitchen (located in the common area) is fully stocked with all appliances you'll need (except a freezer) which is convenient if you choose not to rent a car. A few kilometers away is a grocery store and there are various restaurants up and down the mountain as well.
