Lastly, this is a full home. It is likely you will other guests and housemates. We do our best to accommodate everyone. As such we have among the lowest rates in town. I will say that our home is not the Ritz. If you expect that then you will be disappointed. We've been told we have a hostel feel. This is the feel we are going for and these are the types of guests we hope to attract. If you are going to be rude or critical of our home then please book at a hotel. If you are going to be down to earth, friendly, respectful and communicative then we do our best to do the same and we would love to host you :)
If you need an additional twin bed let me know a week prior to your arrival and I can put it in the room

We are open and friendly to interact with guests. Engage with us and we are likely to engage back :) Please know that we are not traveling as are you. We are here living our day to day. If we seem busy it is not because we are ignoring you or unfriendly, but likely just distracted. We will always try our best to say hi.
We are so close to everything. I love being able to walk everywhere I need to go.

Brent and his housemates were very welcoming. The Downtown Urban Farm was wonderful; it indeed had a very relaxed, casual, hostel-like atmosphere. The inside was clean but lived-in, which I tend to prefer over sterile, impersonal hotel rooms. The rooms were bright and eclectic. The yard was definitely a working mini-farm; plants were coming up in the raised beds, a big lop-eared rabbit greeted me when I parked, and a cat sleepily guarded the back door.
I had a little difficulty navigating the numbered streets of SLC. I gave Brent a call, and he kindly talked me through the directions to get to his house.
I was looking forward to my stay based on the Air B&B description, but when I arrived, it was even better than I had expected. Unfortunately, I was only in town for one short night. I would have liked to stay longer; if I am ever back in SLC, I will try to stay here again. :)
Great location! If you are interested in interior decoration, Brent' house will be a big supprise for you. Evey single furniture were unique and beatiful! Lovely cats!
I stayed for 2 weeks at Brent's house and it was even better than I expected. The house is located in what must be the best part of the city. It's an eclectic neighbourhood with lots of funky little houses, good choice of cafes and restaurants and a great park. It's also close to public transport, grocery shops and public library, which I highly recommend for visit. The room was comfortable, I enjoyed spending time in the garden and the sun room watching the cats and rabbits (fortunately the cats seemed to be on good terms with the rabbits). I met quite a few interesting and friendly people, and on the second night I was invited to join in the barbecue partly. I definitely would come back.
The atmosphere for the household is absolutely wonderful, Brent and his room mates are all wonderful host's, the set up for the rooms available to rent astounded me considering this isn't some sort of hotel or hostel, they are willing to go above the call of duty to help guest, make friends and be all around good people. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking to visit or drive through salt lake.
I had a great stay. The house is everything it advertised. Cozy eclectic room with a comfortable bed, full access to the kitchen, fresh eggs from the chickens in the backyard, and welcoming housemates. There's a grocery store right around the corner, so it was easy to cook for myself and keep my stay cheap. Plus when you do eat there, they have a great porch in the back that looks out to the mountains. Only a couple blocks away from the light rail, so transportation was no issue. Good stuff, I would come back.
Brent's place is a super comfortable setting, just what we needed. He was in contact with us ahead of time and roommates also helped us out with information as needed! Great walking access to downtown Salt Lake City and definitely a place to feel at home for a short stay.
