Rainbow House is a GLBT friendly space, just 15 minutes South of Downtown Portland. We are close to the I-5, 217, and Hwy 99 so easy access to pretty much everything! :)
This is a lovely 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath guest house that is attached to the back of my home. It has a full sized living room with dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. One room has a queen bed, the other 2 have kings. The lower room has access to a bathroom downstairs, and the 2 upstairs rooms share the master bath.
This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to Portland, but not in the middle of things. A quick 15 minute drive and you are downtown, then just as easily home. :) Or you can take public transit and be there or back in 20.
We have a Fred Meyer, Winco, Cosco, lots of resturants and the Washington Square Mall all within 10 mins. by car, or 15- 20 by bus. And we are only 15 mins. from the train station, or 30 mins. from the airport. :)
This listing is for the "Queen Suite", which has a King sized bed, and shared bathroom.
Come stay with us and enjoy a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. :)
This was a wonderful experience of living at this Rainbow house. The room is clean, spacious and quiet. The hosts are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was awesome! I will not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who are looking for a bnb in Portland. :)
Victoria has a beautiful guest house with a gorgeous backyard (with strawberries!!) and a fantastic staff. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. The bed in the queen suite was SO cozy. My roommate and I stayed there a month after moving to Portland while we found a place. It was nice to feel like we had our own space during that time. This place is walking distance from places like WinCo and very close to the highway. We had a wonderful experience here -- thank you all again for everything!!
What can I say that I didn't say last time? Victoria's Rainbow is simply a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay and hang out at, especially if you identify as a T person. I sincerely hope that I can come back next year!
I had a very positive experience with my host, Victoria. The listing for the property was as announced. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, easy to find and within easy reach of downtown Portland and the airport. This is a great place for trans* folk to hang out.
Rainbow House is an awesome place for those looking to support local places that are actively involved in the LGBT community. It really is such a better deal than a hotel / motel as well with the comfort of a house and a beautiful backyard to enjoy.
I stayed in the Queen Room and was thoroughly impressed. Lots of great storage for outfits, something that I totally loved. An HD TV was awesome for catching up on movies while getting some work done and I love the great lighting in the room for taking pictures.
Victoria and the crew has done an amazing job of taking an aging house and transforming it into something beautiful and special... which is what Rainbow House is all about. You will love staying and feeling comfortable knowing that fellow guests and staff are comfortable with all walks of life.
I did not have breakfast during my 2-day stay there but I think that is a great perk as well.
I had a great, relaxing, and productive time there and I will definitely be back so if you book a room, leave the Queen Room open for me :)... I'll be using it frequently!
Just a simple: "WOW!" A great place, and an extraordinary hostess. She immediately made me feel at home and so very welcome in her relatively new Guest House. I was able to roam throughout the bright and warm establishment - inside and out - and felt truly at home and at ease as 'Konnie.' Subsequently, she provided her expert advice and assistance as I prepared for an night out in the extraordinary Portland environs. I only wish I had a few more days in which to exploit the very warm and welcoming surroundings. I can assure you, I will return as soon as another opportunity emerges. In conclusion, I must thank Victoria for all she does to provide and enhance one's individual freedom and choice as it pertains to the most simple enjoyments in one's life! Sincerely, KK
This is an extremely welcoming and nicely appointed B&B for GLBT visitors to Portland. Victoria, Amber and Blair, our hostesses, made us feel at home. It's super-quiet and restful. The only drawback is that it's some distance from downtown Portland, but it's just off I-5, so we didn't find this to be a problem.
