A charming loft in the heart of the historic quartier of São Bento, just across the Parliament building in Lisbon.
This independent house has one bedroom and two levels in a very peaceful pedestrian street although being 1 minute walk away of everything at any time.
What you see is what you get! The photos are accurate and recently updated. The loft was an idea embodied by my visionary brother. Although being an artist nobody believed that he made this out of an abandoned garden.
The loft was then decorated in a "rustic" style for the comfort of your stay. Has one double bed sofa in the living room and a double bed (yes, a real one!) in the bedroom on the top floor.
Fully equipped and furnished in a very homely way. Guests are provided with bedding, towels, high speed wireless internet, TV with international channels, iron, washing machine and a kitchenette (stove; fridge; microwave; toaster) where you can find all the kitchenware that you need to have a full meal. An hairdryer can be provided upon request.
Books from different languages are provided in a "bring a book, take a book" experience. Some worldwide known board games are available too to pass your time in case of an extreme "boring" emergency :)
I live, just like my brother and my mum, in the same street so we will be glad to assist you at any time with anything that you need. We live in a typical Lisbon neighborhood in a very friendly and safe location, highly regarded by the locals and central to most touristy hot spots in Lisbon.
Our location is perfect for both night and daytime expeditions! Just 5 min walk away of Bairro Alto nightlife but you will sleep in a completely quiet area. You will find being within a stone's throw away of supermarket´s; restaurants; coffee houses; Nannarella ice-cream shop (best in town); the Portuguese Parliament; the house where the famous fado singer (Amalia Rodrigues) use to live; the "Café de São Bento" place where the best steak in town is eaten (don´t forget to check price list menu before go there!) and one of the most kept secrets in town, “Praça das Flores”, a charmful and cosy public garden where you can relax and watch the locals and their daily serenity when the day starts to end.
When there and if you are a real hot chocolate lover, try the one in "Pão de Canela" coffee house.
Taking tram number 28 will be an once in a lifetime experience and you´ll find a stop within 2 min walking distance. If you are into it ask me and i will direct you to one of the terminals for you to grab a seat and have a more enjoyable experience during the trip. The tram will pass trough every typical Lisbon neighbourhood. It will be something (email hidden) postcard.
My advice is to get there early, get yourself a seat and bring your sense of fun and sense of humor and you'll have a lovely time. Don´t worry about pickpockets, they don't get up at that time of the morning, they prefer to wait for the crowds :)
Other nearby public transportation includes the green, blue and yellow metro lines ("Rato" or "Cais do Sodré" stations) as well as 3 bus lines able to connect you to anywhere in the city. Check my message after booking for detailed information.
Although Lisbon is a steppy city you are within walking distance of every major atraction.
Beside that i´ve hand wrote all our local tips in a book that you´ll find in the flat, furthermore we invited all our guests to share their tips too in it for all of you get the most out of Lisbon.
Upon arrival you will be presented with our handmade cinnamon liqueur and a local map for you to get around as a local when finding the supermarket, a pharmacy or the nearest cash machine. All this to give you a warm welcome and to prepare you to enjoy and get the most out of the oldest city of Western Europe, Lisbon!
Press "MAP" on this page and take a look on some advices i have on our area where you will be staying. For instance you can eat for less than 10€ in Paz BBQ (closed on saturdays) place located less than 30secs walking from your loft or you can avoid all queues when trying to buy the mythic "Pasteis de Belém"... in Belém! Just ask me.
Check in/out time can be flexible depending on our availability such like storing your bags before/after checking in/out. We can also pick you up and leave you at the airport at a special price.
Me and my family will be happy to advise you on restaurants, events, bars and other things to do in the area and in Lisbon in general, and to help you in any way we can. We love our city and truly want that you have a wonderful time in Lisbon.
See you soon!
This apartment is so original. I loved the quirky aspects of the space. The area was perfectly located for getting all over the city. Sofia and her family were very helpful in giving us many suggestions of things to do and also they provided is with an excellent welcome drink. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore lisbon.

Thanks a lot !! Sandra and Sebastian
Our host was very warm and welcoming and gave us a great recommendation for a delicious local seafood lunch. Sofia and Bruno were great at getting back to us with any questions - communication was very smooth. The apartment was clean and as pictured. The bed was really comfortable. The area was great for getting around, with the no 28 tram stopping just around the corner. It’s also a pleasant walk into the centre. We really enjoyed our weekend stay here. Lisbon is a beautiful city.
We enjoyed „Lisboa“ a lot. The apartment was a perfect base to discover the city.
It also had everything we needed and was well equiped. The only thing we must mention is,
that the shower is too small for tall people. But anyway we were happy to be there and had a really great time.
Beautiful, unique apartment with so much old-world charm. Sofia and Bruno went above and beyond to help us acclimate and welcome us to Lisbon with open arms. The location was pretty much perfect: close to everything, yet quiet and very filled with a small neighborhood culture. Thank you so much.
We had a great time staying in Sofia's flat. Her brother met us and was super-helpful, showing us how the hot water worked and so on - great to deal with. The flat is quite small but very fun, unique and "home-made" feeling. The stairs up to the bed were a bit scary(!) but it was lovely when we got up there. The location is great too, just a short (if steep) walk into the centre and the bars of Bairro Alto etc. Recommended!
We had a great time in the appartment! So much nicer than in a hotel. Sofia and Bruno were very helpfull and gave good tips!! Fado, Sintra, Cascais, Belem....super!
We had a great week in Lisbon. The location of the flat is perfect for exploring, but not too busy. Sofia and her family were really lovely and friendly.
Super. I recommand.
