The studio was exactly as described- very sweet place and truly an ideal location. Romaine and Pascale were very welcoming and made my stay in Bordeaux perfect. By the way, Bordeaux is a beautiful city.
I visited Bordeaux for 4 days in late January 2015. I was attracted to Romain and Pascale's lovely apartment due to the central location in historic Old Bordeaux. The apartment is under 5 minutes from the nearest tram line which links to many key tourism areas within the city, including the train station. If you prefer walking this apartment is still ideally situated, with the main shopping street (Rue Sainte-Catherine) close-by.
The excellent presentation and contents of the apartment were as shown in the provided photographs and exceeded my expectations. While I only stayed for 4 nights, there are amenities available that would make longer stays equally pleasurable. The kitchen is well-equipped and functional for days when you do not want to eat out. Please note that kitchen knives and cutlery are not provided, so it would be wise to buy some if you plan on doing a lot of cooking. The bathroom makes excellent use of the available space. The double sofa bed is large and comfortable, with clean bedding provided.
This top-floor apartment is accessed through a secure door from the street which requires a pin number to enter. There is a light switch for the corridor and stairs inside the street entrance and outside the flat door if you are out late at night. The apartment is up three flights of stone steps through a communal hallway so please bear this in mind if you have specific mobility requirements. Romain and Pascale were very helpful and promptly answered all of my questions prior to and during my visit.
This is a fantastic, affordable apartment and I strongly recommend that you consider it if you are looking for all the comforts of home in an architecturally beautiful location. I would certainly stay in this apartment again when visiting Bordeaux.
