Vernon allowed us early occupation, which was very much appreciated. The description and photos of the apartment was accurate and adequate. The apartment is close to the subway and a supermarket. Thanks Vernon
Vernon's apartment was in a decent neighborhood and a very easy commute to Manhattan. The apartment was spacious, beds extremely comfortable, but a bit dusty - could have used some more cleaning. The place is a short walk to a very good grocery store and free parking is always a bonus in NYC!
Vernon was really nice and relaxed host. It was easy communicate with him before and during our stay. When ever we had a question he answered fast.
The neighbourhood felt safety and the apartment was really close to J-line metro. It takes about 10 min to get to Manhattan but it's good to remember that it takes a while to travel inside Manhattan too. And it takes a while to understand a NY metro system as it's a bit unorganised. Take the 7day card! For the price the location was great. :)
The apartment was really cosy and as it was supposed to be. The beds were comfortable. :) The apartment was generally clean, but some improvment could be done under the bed etc.
We recommend! :)
Gran anfitrión, muy amable. El departamento es más amplio de lo que se ve en las fotos. Estaba muy limpio y ordenado. Tiene comercio básico a solo dos calles y en el mismo lugar una estación del metro. Totalmente recomendable!!
Everything is awoseme. Vernon is Friendly and helpfull. Closer subway and manhattan. I feel in my home. Home is useful and clean. I liked his deceration.
It was our first experience in AirBnb and we were a litle anxious. But everything worked out fine. Vernon was in the apartment when we arrived at 10, and we could leave the luggage and came back later, while he was cleanning. He gave us some general information about the keys and the metro station. And that was all the contact we had with him. The house was ok, the bed was clean and confortable. The shower was very good. But to be honest the whole apartment needed a real cleanliness. The neighborhood was fine but I didn't feel safe to walk on the streets at night. There was no restaurants near the apartment but we could buy everything to cook at home in some grocery stores. The train station was 2 blocks from home and it took 30 minuts to get to 5th av. We expected more from the host. He forgot we had settled an extra day in the apartment and our friends had to antecipate the flight back. He couldn't even help us to call a taxi cab to the airport, fortunally an unkown could do this for us. If a came back again to NY I would for sure stay in Manhatthan.
I usually never respond to reviews, but in this case I will. First off how was I no assistance to you? You sent me many text messages with many "thank you's" in them. If you wanted to be in the city, then that is what you should of paid for. You can't pay for the Holiday in and expect Four seasons treatment and expectations. About the extra night, that you decided to mention on the last day, was your issue, not mine, as you had not paid for that extra night. An as far as a cab goes, I asked if you needed one and you said you would handle it. Again, thanks for staying and your right go stay in Manhattan the next time you are here and find a place that will give you a great rate as I did. People that want things for free should ask for that up front. Here in America, nothing is free. OK!
My father (78) wanted to see once in his life New York.
So I accompanied him. I was looking for an apartment with two bedrooms and found Vernon's Place.
The apartment is very stylish and as described, it has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and a living room.
A good homebase for New York. Vernon was very helpful and responded quickly to questions.
It is a quiet neighborhood in Brooklyn, near is the metro station KOSCIUSZKO on line J, so you will reach Wall St. in Lover Manhattan in 25 min.
