Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • 10 members of my extended family stayed here for a long weekend, due to a family event in Rockville. It was a perfect house for that purpose - big enough for everyone; close enough to everything. My kids asked if we could come back and stay there again! The pictures make the house seem a bit nicer than it actually is - as other folks have noted, it needs some TLC here and there - but it has great bones, is clearly cared for, and offers a lot of nice features (e.g., big kitchen, screened porch, large yard, etc.). We felt lucky to find it.

  • This home is a great size and location for a group. The kitchen is a fabulous size for a group to gather in, cook, and visit. We had up to 12 people staying in and there was plenty of room for all. Some minor maintenance issues but I would recommend this home as a great place for groups visiting the DC area.

  • This house and the grounds had plenty of room to accommodate our family of 13 ranging from grandparents to grandchildren. It also had plenty of yard space for the children to play in and a community pool one house over. There were plenty of places for reading, talking, watching TV, and a great large table in the dining room for shared meals. We went into DC via the Metro twice - parked at the Metro station. Robert was a very gracious and helpful host who met us at our arrival and walked us through the house and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • We enjoyed our stay so much. It was nice to be able to relax after doing our sightseeing and being able to come back so that the kids could have some fun. The only thing I think you could mention for the next guests is that we didn't seem to have enough bowls for the cereal in the morning or for evening snacks. We weren't sure if the Charter Club dishes could go in the microwave or not, so we didn't use them. Other than that, it was great. It was also really nice that you were so accessable for any questions. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your house. I would reccommend this to anyone. It was a great place to stay.

  • The Bowes Stately Manor was the perfect home for our family event. Robert Bowes is a gracious host and personally contacted us regarding our family needs. We had everything we needed to accomodate 3 babies, 4 couples and 5 single adults comfortably. The home and grounds are beautifully kept and is spacious with ample parking. Family arrived from 5 different states for a family wedding. The rehearsal dinner party had room for all with a great kitchen to prepare the food. As a caterer and wedding cake designer, we even made the wededing cake on site. With all the people we had coming and going we never felt we were in each other's way. A tremendous home and host.

  • Lovely stay. Super clean. Great environment and a home away from home while working. Robert was an amazing host.

  • Although the house is in varying stages of update and remodeling: The space was clean and the beds comfortable. Robert is a very likeable and attentive host. The home is well situated just inside the Beltway; close enough to DC for easy access..and far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of city life. No more than 10 minutes from downtown Bethesda where fantastic restaurants and shopping abound. I would definitly consider rebooking this house and would happily recommend it!
