About this listing
We offer a quiet beach themed room with its own bathroom separate from the hosts. It is on the top floor of a centrally located Victorian white stucco house which has been interior designed in a clean and contemporary style.
We offer a quiet beach themed room, to get you in the seaside mood, on the top floor of our classic Brighton Victorian white stucco house which has been extensively refurbished to a very high standard.
Guests have their own bathroom (with separate shower) separate from the hosts.
This is located on the same floor as two guest bedrooms. Most of the time, guests will have sole access to the top floor and the bathroom, however, occasionally we may have friends staying in the other guest bedroom who will also share the bathroom.
IMPORTANT: if sharing a bathroom is a problem please make this clear at the time of booking, we will tell you if anyone else is staying and also try to keep the other room free. Just ask us!
Guests also have access to the kitchen and the rear patio garden. You are welcome to help yourself to tea and coffee in the kitchen and you can also use the kitchen for making light snacks.
All towels and bed linen are provided.
We look forward to welcoming you to Brighton.
Standard check in during the week is 7pm mainly because we both work in London. We can sometimes accommodate an earlier check-in so please let us know if this is required.
Check in on Friday's and weekends is more flexible.
Interaction with Guests
We like to give guests the privacy they need to fully unwind and enjoy Brighton but we are always on hand to make recommendations or provide advice.
During the week we are out at work from very early in the morning until 7pm in the evening so the chances are you will have the place to yourself. At the weekends we are around more, and it's not unheard of to have guests joining us for a nightcap if our path's cross.
We live on a very quiet street lined with Victorian, white stucco fronted townhouses, typically Brighton in style. It is a very safe area 3 minutes from Brighton railway station with everything you could need close by.
The North Laine is 5 minutes walk away where you can make the most of the cosmopolitan cafe culture or browse the quirky and colourful independant shops and boutiques. Walk a few minutes further and discover the Lanes which is a fabulous maze of twisting alleyways offering an extraordinary mix of antiques and jewellery shops nestling alongside specialist contemporary and designer boutique fashion. Finally the seafront with the famous Palace Pier is about 15 minutes walk away.
Brighton attracts an eclectic crowd making it an ideal destination for young people and older generations alike. It is widely regarded as one of the most bohemian and fashionable cities in the UK with its laid-back, effortlessly cool vibe.
Parking and driving in Brighton (especially at the weekends) is not easy. Brighton is a great walking city so you are unlikely to need your car whilst here. We strongly recommend that guests take the train, especially as we are only 3 minutes walk from the station.
Other Things to Note
We operate on a minimum two night basis on a single or double occupancy basis (maximum 2 people). We do not accept children under the age of 12 years. For larger parties we can offer both rooms on the top floor, please ask at the time of booking.

Stayed at Rich & Mike's weekend just gone.
The guys are friendly and welcoming. You can tell they've hosted many times before. I was made to feel welcome and cared for.
Their house is amazing with their modern decor. Got some good decorating inspiration!
The accommodation is on the top floor in the loft. Don't worry no height issues! I had a double room and private almost en-suite. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The bed and pillows were so comfortable.
I enjoyed staying at Rich and Mike's and am glad I chose them over a bargain hotel room!
Thank you so much for your kind review. It was a pleasure to have you to stay.
I just wanted to correct something, if I may, to avoid any confusion for anyone reading the review.
The room is indeed on the top floor but it is on the original top floor of the house and not in the loft (the loft is above).
Excellent hosts. Rich and Mike were in London for most of the week so pretty much had the place to myself. Medium sized bedroom. Lovely bathroom. 2 minutes walk from the station
Would stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at Mike and Rich's beautiful house. We had everything we needed and the whole place was immaculate and clean. We needed easy and regular access to the station and with the station being a five minutes walk it was perfectly located. Despite our hosts being away we had easy communication so this wasn't a problem at all. Would definitely highly recommend this house.
Had a fabulous weekend in Brighton and was made even better by staying with Rich & Mike. The room is as it looks and is wonderful and quiet. Rich and Mike were very friendly and welcoming, even gave some great suggestions on where to visit whilst I was there. Definitely recommend staying here.
This is the perfect place to explore Brighton. Great location minutes from the station, lovely top floor room and bathroom. I have never seen a house so thoughtfully decorated and spotlessly clean! We only crossed Rich and Mike's paths once or twice but they were super helpful and gave good recommendations for restaurants. Would definitely recommend this to to anyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Rich and Mike's. I didn't meet Rich as he was away but Mike was very welcoming and helpful. I was looking for a quiet place to study and this fitted the bill perfectly. Despite being a hop and skip from the main station, it was blissfully peaceful. The bathroom was to die for and my room probably the quietest I have ever stayed in. There were nice little touches like the emergency supplies bucket - cute! Beautiful house with a lot of natural light and superb value for the location. I would definitely stay again. Thank you both.
As others have said, this a beautiful house in a great location for exploring Brighton. The bathroom is fabulous and the general ambiance of the house is very calming. I only met Mike, as Rich was away, but he was extremely helpful but gave me plenty of space. This is just fantastic value, perfect for a weekend getaway.

About the Host, Rich & Mike
We both live in Brighton and work in London. Much of our working week is spent in transit between both cities but it is worth it to live in such a fabulous city.
We completely renovated our Victorian town house approximately 2 years ago and we started doing AirBnB shortly after we moved back in following the renovations.
In that time we have met lots of fabulous and colourful people and we have had many fun times and laughs along the way with some of our guests who have stayed with us. We are happy for guests to join us if our paths cross socially, however at the same time we respect the importance of privacy and giving guests the space they need to enable them to relax, unwind and get the most out of their stay - whatever their reason for coming to our city.
