This is a room in a 1930's home. It is close to transit. It is a 10 minute drive, 20 minute bike ride from Downtown Palo Alto or Stanford Campus.
This large room has a full bed, a desk, a comfortable chair and a vintage armoire to store your stuff. It is in a charming 1930 family home, there is one other airbnb rental on the first floor. In between the two bedrooms is a lovely bathroom. The family lives in upstairs bedrooms, so our guests have the downstairs hall to themselves. You may hear us walking above, on occasion.
We are a friendly local couple, and are happy to suggest local destinations. We are interested in sustainability, and if you want, you are welcome to have an apple from the urban orchard in the yard. We recycle and compost.
The home is close to the California Avenue shopping district, which has a CalTrain station, a grocery, and many restaurants. We are a short walk to a two screen movie theatre at Palo Alto Square. We have a free shuttle services close to our house, the Margarite, run by Stanford University, and are close to the Santa Clara county 22 bus line. We are 5 minutes from Stanford University, or down town Palo Alto by car.
You are welcome to use the kitchen, comfortable back patio, or living room if you want to hang out. This is a family home, and the common areas will not be perfect all the time.

I am a life long Californian, a mom, and a designer. I love gardening, my family and my work. I am a passionate environmentalist, and I am afraid you will HAVE to recycle while you stay with us. Two of the things I love about N. California are it's natural beauty, and it's cultural diversity.
I think life should be fun, and that people should be kind to each other.
I am an interior designer, and run my business out of my home. My husband, Frank is in high tech, big data, if that means anything to you. He is a great resource if you are interested in the local Silicon Valley scene. We have 3 kids, 2 of which are at college most of the time.
We rent their rooms out while they are gone, and really enjoy our guests. I like to think that as hosts, my husband Frank and I offer a local concierge service. We enjoy helping our guests enjoy their stay. There is so much to see in our beautiful area, and hope that staying with our family gives our guests a feeling of being at home in Silicon Valley. This is a family home, and while we try to keep it perfect, sometimes we might be socializing, sewing, or cooking during your stay. We value our 5 star reviews, and want to make sure you are happy in our home. Please let us know if there is anything that bothers you, or if we can do anything to improve your stay while you are here.
